how much does a typical 5wk old drink?

Niamh will be 5 weeks old tomo, she drinks 5oz every 3 hours, she was 10lb last week wheb they HV came to weigh her. Does this seem a normal amount to be drinking?

Yeah that sounds perfectly fine to me. I would say around 3-5oz 6-8 times a day would be "normal". Xxx

I have been told by doctors it's 2.5 oz for every pound the baby weighs. But really it's up to the baby.

my daughter is 6 weeks tomorrow and weight 10lb 2oz at 5 weeks. she drinks 150ml/ 5oz every 4 - 6 hours. we offer her 6oz for her last feed of the night.

She has consistently STTN for over a week now midnight - 7am

So based on the 2.5 oz per lb she should have 25 oz per day. It seem that you are feeding 25 oz so thats good. Are you finding your LO satisfied?

I would say Ziva would appear satisfied with the amount she gets. The fact that she has started sttn has to be a good indication.

That's good. Just keep an eye on her weight and as it goes up then follow the 2.5 oz rule and adjust the amount you feed.
