I am just moving over from exclusive bf'ing and have been combi feeding for 2 weeks...introducing another feed every few days. I plan to be totally ff by next week and wanted to know exactly how much baby should be taking.

I have read side of box and it states 180ml/6oz for 2 month old and 210ml/7oz for a 4 month old....i think 5 feeds a day. My LO seems to.easily drain a 6oz bottle on most feeds though this may be as i am bf'ing between bottles and my supply may be dropping off and she isnt getting what she needs.

Please share how much your LO taking....i.dont want to make too little and her still be hungry or.too much and chuck loads away ...thank youx

The thing on the box is a guide only. My LOs have always been well over this on the number of bottles and the amounts.

My 2 week old is having 7x5oz bottles a day and drinking at least 4oz out of each bottle.

My 2 year old, when he was your LOs age was having 6-7 x 6oz bottles. By the time he was 4 months old Earl was on 7oz bottles (except at bedtime when he took 8oz) - he never went up to 8oz in the day lol - but he was having up to 9 bottles in a day.

I'm a great believer in feeding to what LO needs and wants - no-one can tell how hungry another person is after all - I use the rule of 3. If LO drains 3 bottles entirely within about 48 hours, then add 1oz to the bottle and see how they get on with the larger amount.

Thanks aimee-lou....Mia is regularly taking 5oz from a 6oz bottle apart from first thing in the morning...she needs more...took 7oz in 2 sitting over 1 hour. She sleeps from 6:30pm to about 7:15am every night now so is hungry in the morning. I always make sure i do a couple of.feeds.close together in afternoon/early.evening to make sure she is full and has had a good amount of.feeds during the day. Sometimes difficult getting 5 feeds into her but i calculate she will.probably be getting around 25-30oz a day (in 12 hours) and seems happy.

Cutting out bf'ing this week so will have a better idea of volumes very soon i guess

My LO is 2 months and 3 weeks. She is on 5 x 6oz bottles, and i top her up some times if she wants more, which is usually on a morning when she has slept through. Some days she wants extra and others don't. She generally has 25-32 oz over the day depending on what she wants.

Sounds about what Mias going to be taking when we go to.full ff...perfect.
