Myles is on SMA follow on milk and the tin says he should have 500-600ml in 4 feeds a day from 6 to 12 months but he usually has 6 feeds that size plus 'proper' food - is this too much, should i cut back?

According to my HV when I asked her the same Q, yes! But opinions vary. Ruby is on first milk not follow on though. I found that when I cut her milk down to 21oz she was wanting to eat 3 good meals a day whereas before she wasn't keen on at least one meal.

18-21oz is the recommended amount of milk for 6-12 month olds.

Did you cut down the amount at each feed or drop whole feeds?

I dropped a whole feed, one that I'd been giving at 4pm.

Ruby never cries for milk though so it wasn't hard to do.

I've got Katie on 3 7oz feeds one at 7.30am then 3pm and 7/7.30pm I cut down her 11.30 feed to half and then dropped it altogether she has 3 meals a day and I give her a drink of water with lunch.

I think I am going to have to try and cut Myles feeds down by the sounds of it, he is a really big boy though - 21 pounds and in 9-12 month clothes already (he isn't fat at all just tall and solid!) so he maybe needs more?
