hey all wondering how to word save the date cards?

https://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh156/scottishmind/savethedate-1.jpg

going to put lovely white ribbon around the break between the white and the blue bit of the invitation, maybe get some little pendent type things to put on it then back it on royal blue card?

what do you all think?

it doesnt need to be too detailed. Most I have seen are short and sweet like:

"Save the Date

Bob and Jane have announced their wedding date and would love you to be there.

Please save this date
25th December 2010

Formal invite to follow"

Or if you want it more formal it could be:

"save the date

for Bob and Janes wedding

25th December 2010 at St Nicholas Chrurch, Rushden, Northamptonshire.

Day and night invite to follow"

thanks this is what i have so far:

It doesnt sound right because you refer to yourself in third and first person. It needs to be one or the other. Maybe something like:

"Daniel and Lynne would like you to save the date for their wedding, to be held on 17th March 2012 in Cumbernauld, Glasgow.

Formal invitations to follow"

but the design looks brilliant. And I like the sound of the ribbon wrapping around it  xx

lol just noticed i had done that lol.. results of multi-tasking lol

hummmm, i like it. Very personal- but yes watch how your writing it!!! xxx
