HSG test?

I was wondering who has done this test?
I am supposed to have it done next week and I am worried about radiation damaging my reproductive organs. Also I read that the dye they inject can lead to inflammation and this can worsen the fallopian tubes/uterus.

Also, I read that the causes for blocked tubes is if you had surgery around that area in the past, or any infections. I have never had any type of surgery, nor any type of infection, so I wonder if it is worth going thru this test and risks...

I just want to start moving to next steps and my doctor wants me to do this test to rule out blocked tubes so we can move forward...

Please, if any of you have done this test, let me know if it changed your cycle or cause any problems... Also I read that it can increase the chances of conceiving the next couple of cycles as it flushes the tubes, did anybody conceive right after this test?
