Lily-Mae is drinkin 5 oz every 4 hours ( sometimes have to give her the bottle and hour early ) but she still seems hungry after the bottle ... I am feeding her aptimal ... Do you think I should up the oz or change to the hungrier baby milk .. The 5 oz dnt seem to be satisfying her x

I would up the oz and give her what she wants hungry baby milk can bung them up i believe not speaking by experience just wat i got told in the past :)

It's really not that much if you think about it. That's like drinking 2.5 oz every 2 hours. When my son was that age he was drinking 3 oz every 2 hours. Just give her more :flower:

My Lily-Mae is on 7oz of hungry baby milk every 4 hours. She does get a bit "bunged up" from time to time but giving one small bottle (2-3oz) of boiled water every couple of days has helped with that. Do what you think it best. Try upping it an oz first and if she's still not satisfied try hungry baby milk x

I put LO on hungry baby milk at 7 weeks and it was the best move for us. He became a happier and more satisfied baby and slept much better too which was a wonderfully added bonus. Yes it bunged him up for a few days but apparently any change in milk can do this anyway. Some babies are just hungrier than others lol xx

I'd try upping first! I used too have same sorta issue and it was solved by upping! If upping doesn't work then maybe consider changing!

I agree, The reason we changed is because we had to up twice in a matter of a couple of days and she still wasn't satisfied x

I would defo up her oz first before going to Hungry baby milk, as 3-4 hours between feeds at 4 weeks old sounds really good. My DD2 was only going 2-2.5 hours at that age and I never considered putting her onto HB milk, as its ment for babies closer to weaning age to satisfy big appetites. xxx

My hungry baby milk says from newborn on it and with my DS my HV advised me to put him on it at about 4 weeks old x

All hungry baby milk does say from newborn I agree. But I think it needs to be used cautiously, as it contains the same fat and calories as first milk, but a baby will drink it in less quantity due to the whey:casien ratio, which is more similar to cows milk, so babies find it harder to digest, hence keeping them fuller for longer.
HB milk can commonly cause not so serious problems such as colic and constipation, but there is also a potential risk that a very young baby who needs to feed little and often will end up feeding just little, with long spaces between feeds, so would not be consuming the calories and nutrients they need for healthy growth.
First milk has a closer protein profile to breast milk so it is easier on baby's tummies and should always be the first choice for as long as possible if you are formula feeding.
Obviously Im not gonna say that your HV or doctor are wrong as Im not in the medical profession and dont know your baby's situation or medical history. xxx

I'd try adding some rice cereal to her bottle plus upping 1 oz.

My lo has been on 6oz for a couple of weeks now and goes 3-4hours between feeds. I'd agree with others and try and up the oz first. My HV incidentally advised me against hungry baby milk this soon - funny how much advice varies.

Up the ounces, what she's taking isn't actually that bad, don't see a need for Hungrier Baby milk IMO :)

up the ounces. It may be a growth spurt so she needs more at the moment. Eddy is currently taking 7oz every 2.5 hours throughout the day. He has been on 7-8oz on this schedule since he was 5 weeks and I don't see a need to put him on HB milk when he's happy and thriving. My first was the same, and I tried the HB milk to try to stretch him out when he was 2 months on HV advice and it bunged him up and made him really poorly and uncomfortable - I went back to first milk and never bothered to try Eddy on it as a result. Not necessary to use HB milk unless it's a last resort in my opinion.

I feed my dd on demand until only about 2 weeks ago she now goes 3 to 4 hours and has 7 ounces I would just give her what she wants as it doesn't seem that much

My LO is three weeks and ive had to put her on Aptimal hungrier baby as she wasnt getting satisfied and was taking 4 oz every 2 hours so HV told me to move her on to hungry baby millk.
