When would you start using the hungry baby stuff?

Josh is taking 4/5ozs then taking another 2/3 an hour later would now be the time or not to bother?

Thanks x

no advice hun kyles taking 6/7oz every 3/4 hours apart from at night

Isobel is on 6oz every 3hours. Can you not up the amount he takesa in one sitting?

He wont drink it, I make 6 oz bottles then he'll only drink 4/5 then an hour later scream for more, I try and try to get him to take more but he just spits it out. Hes sleeping through the night so I think he's trying to stock up during the day.

I tried the hungry baby milk before bed last night and he slept 12 hours so I duno whether to carry on with it

What teat are you on? Isobel was exactly the same she was working so hard on the teat that she got tired... and only took 4/5oz max. I changed the teat to next one up at she's downing 6oz's... If the hungry baby stuff works - thats good.

Have you explored the possibility that he might be crying due to tiredness or overstimulation an hour after his feed? If you haven't already, maybe try giving him a dummy and putting him down before offering another bottle.

We put Ruby on half hungry baby Cow and Gate and half regular which works for us but unless you use the ready to feed cartons like we do I guess this probably wouldn't be an option.

just came across your reply and just had a quick question

My LO is doin well through the day with feeds, approx 4/5oz every 3 hours but when i give him his bottle at 11ish on a night he is waking an hour later for another 1.

so bak to my Q...

Do u give your LO a hungry baby bottle on a night?

Was thinking of tryin normal formula during the day and then on his bottle at 11ish give him hungry baby milk

thanks x

We actually put half and half in each bottle. It's probably a weird thing to do, but we did it to slowly introduce hungry baby milk in case for some reason it didn't agree with her, but she was happy and started sleeping til 5.30am at 3 weeks then til 7am at 6 weeks. We daren't do anything else now!

tbh I'm not even convinced the hungry baby milk is THAT different, has the same no of calories, just ever so slightly more protein and carbs, if you look at the label. (I'm talking about Cow and Gate, others might differ.)

use the hungry baby milk from now hun if youve already tried him onit. if he only wants a bit now then a bit a little later mabye its because hes full then ''deposits'' some then theres room in his belly agsin. hungry baby is REALLY thick so even if he does deposit some theres stil a thick bulk left in his belly :)
well thats how i see it anyway

When my LO was about 3 months i switched her onto hungry baby milk as she was having 5 oz of milk but it didn't seem to fill her, i tried giving her more but she wouldn't drink it so i decieded to switch and it worked alot better.

Ive had Archie on hungry baby for couple of weeks now. He is taking 5oz every 2hrs now so gonna up him to 6oz tomorrow and see if i can draw out the time between feeds a little longer.

Only prob is though, his poo has gone alot more solid with this and sometimes seems hard for him to pass a poo :(
