We have switched to hungry baby, Hope was feeding every hour and a good 6oz a time, so I decided to give her the hungry baby formula and she is so much happier and more settled and feeding 4-5oz every 4 hours.

I got told off by my mw last week as she said its been proven that babies that are fed this are overweight as children, I think its a load of rubbish, surely we as parents control what our kids eat later on??? I have stuck to my guns and tbh I am glad I have, I have a happy healthy little girl and surely thats got to be better than her crying all the time because she is hungry?!!

I switched Ava onto hungry baby, she was hungry all the time and now gos for 2.5 hours so its a massive improvemment :D

And i dont think it actually contains extra calories just takes longer to digest so i dont see how it could make them fat xx

We put Summer on HB milk at less than a month and she went back to feeding every 4 hours. I don't think it causes them to be overweight .. Us as parents would do that xx

I have spoken to loads of my friends and most of them put their kids on HB, they said it was fab!! I guess some babies are just hungry!!

Works miracles for the night feeds too! Shes like a totally different baby now on HB- only waking for one feed :cloud9:

xx

we put jayden on hungry milk at 2 weeks, he changed from every hour to every 2! now he goes 3-5hours most times xx

i put Aliyah on hungry baby and she was just the same as before lol i dunno why it didnt do anything for her so iv just taken her back off it x

I have put Finnlay on HB milk, were using the cow and gate, he was feeding evry 2 hours and taking 5oz and was sicking bits up all the time, im still waiting to see if this will help, he hasnt changed his feeding habots yet but where theres will lol!

i have noticed he is a bit constipated though and he drank 3oz of cool boiled water last night so he must have been parched!

My son, now 4 was on hungry baby milk. He is so skinny that he still wears some shorts for age 1 1/2 - 2 years!!

The hungry baby milk is made using the whey and takes longer to digest in the tummy whereas the first milk is made from the curds and is easier and quicker to digest.

I still have Naomi on first milk as she doesn't seem as hungry as Aidan was but her thighs are the biggest I've seen.

I don 't think it makes for fatter children.

My lo is now 12 weeks and starting to get really hungry. He used to sleep 8/9 hours at night but now he is waking up around 3 times a night. He will around take 4/5/6 oz.

Is it worth putting him on HB formula, HV said this can make him consitipated, any experience of this ladies?

Hope has been on HB for a week now and we have had no problems with constipation.

Markkus was very constipated before but now he has been on HB for 2 weeks and its all gone.its brilliant :)

Lily is 5weeks & is taking 5oz every 3-4 hrs but sicking some up...was thinking of changing to HB, Just not sure if it will change her being sick

I wouldnt suggest you change her milk, i doubt it will stop her being sick xxx

jacob went on HB at just over 3 months as his weight shot up a centile. the HV gave me the impression HBF is not for babies under 3 months but i dont think it says this on the box. its not got any more nutrients in it its just got more calories which bulk them out abit and stays inside them longer.
id personally be weary of using HBF for young babies as they are very hungry and need feeding often at that stage. thats just normal. using HBF might mean they miss out on nutrients they actually need.
ive never heard of HBF causing weight issues in later life tho. i think alot of HVs give opinion over fact.

Just looking at the ages of some of the babies of the posters on this thread and I'm wondering if they were just going through a growth spurt. Arthur cluster feeds when on a growth spurt but it always settles down after a few days so I haven't had to give him HB milk (yet) lol!

i was going to put nicole on hbf but some ppl i know said it made no difference and/or caused constipation. my niece switched her son onto this but made bottles up mixing both(normal and hb, half and half) and slowly eased down on normal formula. worked a treat on her son, hes now 18mths and is far from overweight lol. he takes after his mum who im very jealous of, a month after he was born she was back to a size 8!!

We changed Isabelle on to HB at about 4-6 weeks as she was feeding every 2-3 hours and also had some reflux. As soon as we made the switch she was loads happier and went for longer between feeds and instantly stopped being sick. I'm so glad we didn't listen to the HV and went by our instinct.

Might be worth a go :) Jayden hasn't had constipation yet, he's been on it for 6 weeks nearly xx

Jake went on hungry baby and it made no difference, he still woke the same amount of times and all it did was make him constipated. I put him on it cause he's on 7oz bottles and is only 6 weeks old. He's not overweight for his size though. HV said the same, that HB milk just tends to make babies constipated.
