Hungry Baby Formula

I put my LO on HBF because there was just no filing him with the normal stuff but unfortuntly it didn't suit him. He was still hungry after a 6oz bottle and it made him very constipated, so bad there was blood in his stools (TMI**) also made him dehydrated

But I've read many of threads with people who had no problems with it.
Just didn't suit him,,

2 of mine were put on this but you need to watch out for constipation.mine did not grow to be fat ,both are normal size.

interesting thread ladies, was just wondering about this.
Bridget is drinking 6oz bottles and leaving a dribble, so I'm guessing her tummy is full. But an hour later she'll have another few ounces, then that will see her through another couple of hours, so about 3 hours between feeds really... I was wondering if hungry baby would help as she'd feel full for longer on the 6oz she can squeeze in her tum. Last few nights she's also waking hungry in the morning (feed at 7pm then bed, wake her at 10.30pm about 6oz then she had been going until half seven before wanting fed) - last few nights it's been half six she's wanted feeding... so I don't know really, I guess it might help that night one, but if I was doing it in the day time she'd be taking on less calories so that might be a bad thing?! I don't know it's all very confusing!

Lily is 5weeks & is taking 5oz every 3-4 hrs but sicking some up...was thinking of changing to HB, Just not sure if it will change her being sick

Hi hun, u can change to stay down/anti reflux formula which is designed for sicky babies xx

we switched nicole over to HB last fri, yes she has dropped her intake to 4 - 5oz instead of guzzling 7-8oz every 2hrs which i guess is a good thing BUT shes still feeding every 2hrs but wont drink anymore than 5oz, this happens at nite too!! like having a newborn again lol. going to stick it out for another few days

well we gave B a bottle of HB last night for dream feed last night, she sank 6oz as per usual, but instead of waking at half six, it was half four :( fail... try again tonight... maybe if it had been the ordinary stuff it would have been half three last night, who knows.

well i guess im a liar lol. nicole completely changed her feeding amts today. shes still every 2 hrs but now drinking 6oz, all day long shes been like this. nearly out of formula again :dohh:. i cant win lol

Hi all,
just a quick Q about HB my LO has been on it for a week now and his stools are solid instead of the usual mush it was before. Also I have found him to be constipated and small amount of blood in one nappy after passing a stool a couple of days ago, but no blood since.
Should I take him off HB or will this pass???

Hve you tried giving him some cooled boiled water??

yea someone on another thread mentioned this too me so i shall try that but how much tho?? some hav said no more than 2-3oz a day?

Hope has about 2oz of water but she doesn't have it all the time!!

nicole is still the same, draining 6oz of HBF every 2 hrs and has 1 or 2 nite feeds too. gave her a dream feed at 10pm but still she woke for another at 3am last nite. thankfully shes not constipated but boy does she give me dirty nappies, 4 yesterday, 1 normal and the others were little ones (and the smell, omg sometimes i need to wear a hazmat suit :haha:) HBF isnt settling her, shes still hungry.

I had Chloe on HB from about 2 months, she is almost one now. I only took her off it when she was being weaned as I didn't see that point of her having a more fullfulling milk when she was on solids and that was around 7 months. She didn't sleep through the night until about 8 months, I think it satisfying a baby to sleep better is a myth tbh. Throught the whole time and even now she is a healthy weight and bulid for her age. HV's sometimes really! Do what is what you feel best for your LO, soulds like you are :hugs: :flower:

Also, your LO may just be hitting a growth spurt hence the need for more. Always keeping us on our toes!
