Husband's dad owes my hubby...

Over $30,000 on his credit card and seems to always have an excuse for not paying it back.

Here's the very short story..my hubby let his dad wrack up over $30,000 in credit card charges because before this tab..he did it and paid it back, but then his dad fell into money trouble from not paying his taxes. And now has no money. Therefore we are stuck with my hubby's credit card being maxed out and no means to pay it back..nor should he! I think.

I want to say something to his dad, but I think it would really piss my husband off. However, now my hubby's bank account has been frozen because of the card debt. We just bought a house..and are struggling on one income.

Its totally f#$@#ing nuts to me that a parent would let his child be this stressed out over his mistake!

I dont know what to do.

My husband wont put his foot down and make him pay him back...which I think there are ways he could..he still drinks..still lives in a $3000 a month hotel...

Its bullshit!

Why doesn't he rent out a room or an apartment? It would be a lot cheaper than $3000.00 a month. Sounds like your husband needs to put his foot down and tell his dad he needs to man up and pay back what he owes as he is ruining his life too. Wish you all the luck.

That's shitty for sure! U're FIL definately needs to get his act together and pay back his son! Why should your family struggle when it's not your debt?? I hope ur DH says something...

And make him get his own damn credit card after it's over with!

Don't try to force him to pay it all off at once, just be all, okayyy, give us like 1000 a month, until it's all paid back.
