hypospermia

hi, i wondered if anyone's OH, like mine, suffers from hypospermia (semen volume of less than 1.5 or 2ml on ejaculate) and how - if at all - this has affected your ability to conceive? we have been TTC for one year now with no success and i wondered if this may be a contributing factor? any thoughts gratefully received, thanks

Was this diagnosis a result of more than one SA test? Also, some men have a hard time producing samples "on demand"... My husband's volumes are always fine, but he has told me that it's not the funnest thing in the world, and it's often less than what he's used to.

hi ao30 thanks for your quick reply! it's the result of two different tests and does seem to be a problem generally if you get what i mean in a way, i'd be glad to know that this is the problem, because then we can try and do something about it!! i'm thinking of trying IUI in the next couple of months

So sorry dear! I'm glad to see you got repeat tests done. I really don't know much about it, but are his other levels decent? Sometimes if he has super sperm (great motility, high # of sperm per mL, etc) it doesn't matter too much.

IUI does sound like it might work if this is the problem!

hi there again yes his other levels are great (phew) so that's the only thing that i think it could be. and i think i'm okay - had HSG and all clear, plus regular cycle. guess i'm just trying to find answers as to why not pregnant yet!!

I know how that feels; we're been "unexplained infertility" for awhile now and I just don't believe in a diagnosis like that. I would really recommend visiting the Long Term Trying To Conceive section- due to the fact that many of the ladies on there have been TTC for a long time, they usually have more answers/info then some of the other sections on B&B.

hi all, my fiance has ejaculate volume 0.2 ml/sperm pathology 90%/motile sperms 5 million per ml and non motile sperms 7 million per ml
oligoasthenozoospermia with hypospermia
