I am 26 weeks pregnant and my bump is pretty small. M naturally tall and slim. I weighed 108lbs before Falling pregnant. At 26 weeks I weighed 119lbs. My midwife says my measurements are tallying well with my weeks but hey something keeps telling me it might really be a very small baby.

This is my second pregnancy . The first one was a girl weighing 6.3lbs at birth.

I am not sure if it might be my state of mind, because I lost my only sister the same month I conceived so, I have not been myself ever since, up to now I just find myself crying, its been difficult for me to accept the loss. Could mourning affect my baby growth. I have improved a lot when it comes to my eating habits:nope:. Only became stable at twenty weeks otherwise nausea was killing me till then, could not keep anything down.

Im not sure but try not to worry it will only make u more stressed! Im worried the opposite my bump is huge and iv gained a lot. Mw says its in the normal range for bump size but i cant help thinking he might be a big baby!

Im not sure if it helps but i remember there was a study on stress and loss for people who were pregnant over 9/11 and most of them still delivered healthy babies which is reassuring. Xx

I don't know if it will make you feel any better, but I'm now 27 weeks, and I've put on 13lb, so just a couple more than you, and my bump is pretty small. I was a little bit bigger than you to start off with, but I wouldn't worry too much. Everyone's bodies are different in pregnancy, and some people just gain more or less weight than others.

As long as your midwife has no concerns then I would just relax :hugs:

Wooow. M kinda relieved. Thax a lot ladies for your replies. M sure the less I stress about it the more it will help. M sure can do much in the period left ... who knows could put on a little more lbs:winkwink:

:hugs: try not to worry about it. If your midwife is saying all is well, believe in that and hold on to it.

I'm 16 weeks, I have lost weight since I found out I was pregnant. I was about 222 before pregnancy, and I'm 215 now. Luckily I have been holding onto about 215 for about 4-5 weeks now, but I haven't gained anything, or am not showing (even with it being my second pregnancy).

I was worried about it, but my doctor eased my worries by saying all was well at my last appointment (at 14 weeks). She also told me that some women don't gain weight, and some lose.

I don't know why women place so much importance on how things look. The way that your body changes (weight gain, shape change) has to do with your body composition, the length of your torso, the strength of your muscles, even your posture, and has very little to do with the health of your pregnancy and/or weight of your baby.

I can see how being on this forum could cause that worry just by looking at the bumps thread. There's all these girls on here that are showing big bumps from early on. And if a girl doesn't really know any better could get worried that she's not showing yet.

I know that everyone is different and I still compare myself to others.

So I'm not sure this will actually help you feel better, but I thought I looked small the first time around, and people told me how small I looked, too, but my OB kept saying everything was fine and my fundal height looked good. Well, it turns out my baby had Intrauterine Growth Restriction and was only 5lbs 7 oz at nearly 39 weeks. Her placenta had died and she had actually LOST weight in the womb. I wish I had been more pro-active about making sure baby was okay, so maybe just let your doctor know that you're concerned and maybe you can get a growth scan just to be sure. :hugs:

It's pretty normal to feel a little self conscious. I know I do! Especially during pregnancy as everything is changing so it's not a matter of placing importance on the issue.. She's just concerned.

I'm sure your baby is fine hun, your bump can measure small or large and baby is still a healthy size. x

I put on 20lbs with my son and my bump was small. Two different OBs insisted that there was no way my son would even weigh 7lbs based upon my bump. He weighed 7.14. Just eat healthy, exercise and you're body will take care of the rest!
