I cant breastfeed

Hey girls I dont really want to go into detail but I have been told I will probably not be able to breastfeed (long story).....

SO now I feel awfull, I know breast is best... I really dont want to deprive my son of all its goodness but seeing I cant breastfeed, formula feeding has become the only option suitable for us....

Can someone tell me of some bubs that were forumla fed and still fine? I just feel like i might be causing my son to get more illnesses as his immune system wont be as good etc and i know breast milk is meant to help with that.... I guess im not choosing not to breast feed but i still feel awfull.... I dont wanna cause any harm to my baby

Sorry to hear you cant BF Your LO will be absolutly fine on formula. They have spent years and years developing formulas to ensure that babies get everything they need. He will get all the goodness he needs hun

Sorry to hear this, formula is fine for babies. I would suggest you do a little research though, as many women can be advised they can't breast feed when all they need is additional support or a change in medication. Not saying this is the case with you, but it's always worth looking into just in case.

my husband was breastfed, he has every illness going LOL, he has excema, asthma and hayfever, and some allergies so breast obviously wasnt best for him LOL, formula is just as good hun dont feel down about it

Amy was only ever formula fed and she has only ever had one cold in a whole year of life! So please dont worry about the immune system being worse because you can't breastfeed, which I am sorry about by the way. x

I was unable to breast feed Niamh but i did give her expressed milk for 4 weeks. I know how you feel about the guilt.
My son was formula fed and he is fine so i'm sure Niamh will be.

Dont worry! BF babies get sick, FF babies get sick. There are many other things in life that contribute to babies and illnesses. BF and FF can both get reflux and colic, it simply just happens, regardless of what you feed your baby.

The most important part of BFing is the colostrum, if you can express that, then that is good too, any little bit is good.

You will not have any less of a bond with you baby either. You can still have plenty of skin to skin bonding too.

I was told i couldn't b-feed,but found out my meds were actually safe afterall.

but i failed after a week, and went onto bottle/formula feeding......hes still doing really well.

please dont worry too much, your baby will be fine on formula. xx

Erin is bottle fed and is absolutely fine and healthy. We use Aptamil which is very close to breast milk. xx

Aww sweetheart!! I had the same pressure in hospital. It almost drove me to a breakdown. Then in the paper I found out that our hospital had been given government targets to meet. It is ridiculous!!! Don't you worry. Too many fallacies provided about bottle feeding honey. Enjoy your baby. xxx

Thats crazy that your gov has targets with bfing to meet! Mine was ok, some nurses pressured, some didnt. I told them I wanted to try so I think some of it was them just being encouraging.
