i dont have a nursery :-(

No nursery either. Baby will be in with us for the first 6 months, then we'll be sleeping on a sofa bed in the lounge until we can move. Credit crunch has got us and we can't sell. We've got a great flat but it's little and will feel a bit squashed, especially when baby gets bigger and starts walking. Keeping our fingers crossed that the housing market perks up soon but there's no way baby will have his/her own room for the first couple of years. We did consider putting the new one in with our 10 year old but her room just isn't big enough for a cot...

We lived in a much bigger place when our daughter was born (flats in Birmingham are so much cheaper than flats in London...) and we were able to have a nursery. It was really fun to decorate it and it was a gorgeous room but our daughter was such a terrible sleeper that she hardly ever slept in there anyway. I do feel a bit guilty that we were able to spoil our daughter with her own room etc but won't be able to with this one...

So glad I'm not the only one bothered about stuff like this!
I'm living in Leicester for uni (shared flat with best friend & 2 others) and the BF lives about an hour away with his parents whilst trying to make his printing company a success, so at the moment we have no where definite to live when bump is born never mind its own nursery! :(

Our baby wont have its own room/nursery either....

We are in a one bed top floor flat(not even a very big one) so we will be jiggling about our furniture to make room for the crib then cot bed.

Our flat is up for sale but because of the way things are we dont see us selling anytime soon...soooooo....we have bought a new couch to give way more room in lounge and its also a sofa bed so if things came to the worst we could give LO the room(when older)and we sleep in lounge and we are hunting for a new bedroom carpet this weekend.

My one BIG problem is people trying to be kind. Hubbys parents got us a huge baby bath(without asking) which we have nowhere to put so are leaving it with them for future and getting a small bath support. Also friends off loading baby chairs that are rockers and whatnot that take up so much room when all we want is a smple baby bouncer we can hide undera chair!

Things will work itself out, we have a nice off road grassy area and a kids play park in our street and I am just glad my mum lives near and has a big garden so when LO is older we can go to Grannys to let off steam!

Iam sooo with you on this one hun , I have a 3 bed house .
My daughters room is a bautifull pink room .
My son has a tiny and i mean tiny box/Cupboard room lol , So h is is decorated for him , So baby corey is staying put in our room untill we get a new house .
Its strange seeing every one else talk about theres when we donthave one .
But what we have found really cheered us up is buying really cute nursery bedding for the cot , And having his own little drawers on his corner/Side of the room :) . It looks like a miny nursery in our room lol . xxxx .

We are in a 1 bedroom, ground floor maisonette that we own. Lucky for us, the rooms are large and we have two storage rooms attached and a 95 foot garden with a storage shed. We also have loads of storage space in the flat. Our son sleeps in our room and we plan on keeping him with us until he is 18 months old. We are turning the large kitchen into his bedroom and building an extension. We are waiting for planning permission. So, our son does not have a nursery and will not have his own room for at least the first year.

we actually will be having a "nursery" but we aren't decorating it or anything (such as painting and whatnot) we are doing a winnie-the-pooh theme meaning crib set lol thats it! But for the first 6months baby will be living in our room. We just plan on getting a basinette or somesort and putting that beside the bed. So basically everything in the nursery will just sit and collect dust for the first 6 months unless we decide to put it down in the crib while we are closer to that room. But really a baby doesn't need a nursery! As long as it has a nice place to sleep and lots of love it won't know any different :)

I live ina shared house with two friends and have a tiny single bedroom for my and baby to live in for 6 months. Luckily it's recommended that baby stays in parents room for 6 months!

I will have a nursery this time as we have a 4 bed house, well almost when we divide one of the large rooms! but when I had my first she was in the room with us to begin with, I decorated the area of the room that she slept in. I painted Mr Men all around where her crib was, and put up a lovely big flower picture on the wall. Pick a corner of your room and make it a little nursery area, then you can do a little decorating. It is nice to do something in preperation for little ones arrival, but like others have said, it isnt necessary, babies really dont know any difference. I think it is mainly for the parents sake than anything.lol!

Take care,

Shimmy,

I also live in one bedroom flat so baby doesnt have a nursery, have set up the cot in our room. I was sad i didnt have a room to decorate for baby, i would of loved to have decorated a nursery for baby as its my first and i find everything so exciting! Hopefully i wont be here much longer though and baby can have his own room when hes a little older.

I have a nursery for this baby but when I was pregnant with my now 10 yr old I lived in a open concept apartment and so there was no clear separated room for him but what I did was set-up his crib and decorated around that corner for him. It turned out great!! You could do a little corner for your LO.

LogieBear-I don't see it as giving away money at all. I have a convertible solid wood crib and dresser that will be used for LO for years and years. And having a nice room that is as nice as my sons room and the rest of the house to me isn't giving away money. I agree if you do not have the means or care about that stuff then why do it but for those of us that do it's fun and something I look forward to!

thank you all for your kind words and encouragements!!

Feeling better about it all now, and i really cant wait to have Froglet in with us!

As long as we move for number 2 (hehehe!) all will be fine! x

thats so cute katie xxx

Very cute pics!

We have a 4 bedroom house and our bedroom has a sitting area, which is where we set up my son's crib, followed by his toddler bed for the nursery. He's 3 1/2 and STILL sleeps in there! But we like being able to hear him sleep at night. It's going to be a huge adjustment to move him to his own room so #2 can have their crib there. I'm not looking forward to the transition at all. :(
