I have fed my baby on demand since birth.
He weighed 3.2 kgs then and is now at 5 months 8.4 kgs.
I was at the baby clinic the other day https://www.babyandbump.com/weaning-kids-nutrition/73570-well-they-said-hes-fat.html
and I am wondering now if I feed too often. I try and space it 3 hours, I know he could go more, but he doesnt want to and often hell want it after 2.5 hours.
Sometimes hell even feed very often like when his teeth hurt.
Maybe I should try put the pacci in more , I just have this thing against denying someone food you know. So thats why I have always just fed him when he wants it. He also has to feed after a bath and usually when he wakes from a nap despite if he isnt "due to be fed"
am i doing something wrong here?

No!! Feed him when he wants to be fed. I feed Caitlyn whenever she wants and they used to say she was fat. Now she's average because she caught up on herself

I know where you are coming from. I put her dummy/paci in sometimes when I know she cant be hungry and then I feel bad or worry 'what if I'm wrong and she IS hungry?' :wacko: Its hard to know what to do for the best isnt it. Sorry if I havent helped - I just totally understand how you feel. x

My midwife came to see me today, and she said it's impossible to overfeed a breastfed baby!!

I responded to the other thread. You are doing NOTHING wrong!

That's ridiculous! :hissy::hissy:

Just feed him when he's hungry. He'll lose a lot when he starts moving. I know it is hard, but there is a lot of conflicting advice.

It's so hard to know what to do for the best when there is so much conflicting information out there, isn't it?

I have always been told that breastfed babies cannot be overfed so I say just carry on as you are. If his Dad is big, then he is obviously just naturally a big and healthy baby!

I can just completely agree with ur midwife - it's impossible to overfeed the baby who's breastfeeding.

Ps as far as I know according to WHO breastfeeding baby should gain during the month 500 gr, but not more than 2 kg (as it could be some health problem). So don't worry it's not ur case. Plus every baby's different!
