Just wanted to let you know this tidbit as well. If you get billed by a hospital or Dr's office, they cannot report anything negative to your credit as long as you make an attempt to pay a small portion of the bill each time that they send it to you. Even paying $5 each month or whatever will protect you from them reporting something bad to your credit!
I previously worked in medical billing and used to tell tell this to people all the time that were 'self-pay' or had a super high insurance deductible and couldn't afford a huge bill all at one time, I wish more people knew about it!
