I don't know it must be a craving but I've been loving the feel of sponges lately. And just had a shower and chewed a bit off and a bit more soon there was no more sponge lol ( I didn't swallow it just spat it out)

Please tell me I'm not only one? Actually I probably am.

Feel weird now lol x

Im sorry but wow...the title really made me laugh!

On a serious note, if you do start actually swallowing and crave more i think perhaps you should speak to your doc 'pica' as it is known is not too good!!!

:)

earlier in pregnancy I also did this... and the scourer ones used for washing pans were the most satisfying!!

At the same time i was craving mints... read on the internet that this was related to iron deficiency and then got put onto iron tablets and both cravings stopped. Not sure if it was a coincidence?

Oh my god I love chewing sponges! lol I thought I was the only one. I used to chew them and rip them and spit them out when I was younger lol, since I've been pregnant the craving's come back so I bought a sponge the other day and just sat chewing it, tee hee. I'm very weird, but hey it's awesome :D

That title made me laugh sooo much... Don't worry, it's not like your eating it! Hehe... Pregnancy...such a mystery!! Xxx

LOL - sorry don't mean to laugh - but the title just did it for me xxxxxx your normal xxxxxxx

Oops lol was it tasty though? My friend used to chew toothbrush heads and that was different...
I think the weirdest I've been is getting up at 1am and cooking myself a fried egg sandwich lol xxx

I'm the same, but it's only happened during 3rd tri.
I craved the touch of one of these ...

And I was picking at it everytime I went in the bath and it made my mouth water. When I got out, I actually cry to my OH because it felt like I was "missing" it. If there's any sponge infront of me, I can happy sit there and pull it apart.

Haha thats hilarious! I used to do that when I was younger tho when sponge full of water!! I can understand the appeal!:)

Wow I'm not the only one! Feel great now lol
I have been licking the new one each time I go in bathroom and like someone else said I feel like I'm missing out when it's not there lol

I had this with my first pregnancy hehe , was very strange! xx

LMAO I almost ate my daughters crayons!

I was smelling them and thinking hmm one bite can't hurt then my 2 year old realised after Daddy grassed me up took them off me with a frown and hid them :(

Puts me in mind of the line from finding nemo- "I will call you squishy and you will be mine, ...and you will be my squishy!"

You strange people lol! Only joking, I read a thread on this a few months back, all the 'sponge eaters' united on the thread lol was quite funny!

Im glad I dont want to chew sponges, although it seems more appealing now, than it did when I read the thread a few months ago? Weird! I dont have bath sponges so I wont be tempted, I use the bath scrub things you get in gift sets for women.

I bet it helps keep teeth clean chewing on them though lol.

xx

lolololol

Hi my names Kim and i chew towels!!! :)

I know i have a problem but for some reason i cant help it!!! lolol

You have Pica. It is a condition in which woman crave non food items during pregnancy. It normally is dirt, rocks, chalk, clay and ice, but can be other items as well. They believe this is caused by iron-deficiancy. Tell your doc so they can check your blood for its iron levels. Please don't ingest these items as they can be toxic. Good luck.

now I want to chew on a sponge, and I do have low iron lol maybe that's why I wanted to eat Keira's crayons
