I need some play room inspiration. Could anyone share their photos/ideas?

Love Micah's room! I remember you were moving as you commented on my post not long ago when you were kind of in both houses still! Hope you're all settled in.

His bed looks good too. good for storage. Jarvis is still in his cot but baby number 2 will be here in July so will have to get him in to a new bed in the new place. Some more online window shopping for me!!

I'm itching to get in our new place and work out where things are going to go!

Angel I love the storage in Micah's room! Are the shelving things from Ikea? Would love to get something like that. Did you have to attach it to the wall?

Thought I'd bump this thread as we are moving soon and the new house will have a room that we want to use as a snug/playroom. It won't be a massive room and there will be a 2 seater settee in there so I'm just looking for ideas.

Trying to decide whether to go for tv on the wall of maybe get so eething like this from good old Ikea:

I like the cabinet and it gives you storage, and it's really a matter of personal preference. For me, I put tvs on the wall for two reasons: no tipping by a toddler and out of reach, and I like to be able to easily turn the tv left or right or angle it up or a little down depending on where I'm sitting and the light coming into the room. I find it easier to do that when it's on the wall rather than in a cabinet.

Also, my toddler is a climber and she'd be inside that cabinet snuggled right up to that tv in a matter of seconds LOL

If you go with the cabinet you can still secure the tv with anti tipping straps. My parents have a tv in a cabinet and when I had daughter they attached their tv to the back of the cabinet.

Thank you :) they are Ikea yes and we attached them to the wall with a bracket that came with it. I'd love to tell you it was easy but we struggled a bit, I'm not very DIY oriented and drilling holes in the wall for the appropriate sized wall plugs etc... It scrambled my brain a bit but we did get it to work eventually! (I think it'd be easy for most people, and I'm our defence it was 10pm after a whole day of moving and I refused to let Micah sleep in there until it was secure!)

Thank you! You raise a good point about the climbing! My LO is a bit of a climber but it seems to be easing off a bit. Maybe we will go have a look at it and decide. My OH will just loooove a trip to Ikea :haha:

This is when we just moved in so not decorated or got the rugs down/curtains up etc. yet. The big wardrobe I found in a second hand store and my dad put shelves in it for me and it holds all of his toys really nicely.

I'm jealous that everyone can manage shelf storage. If I put anything nicely on a shelf ever, it would go to the floor within seconds every. single. time. I have two of those plastic drawer towers that all of his basket-able toys go in. As soon as he figures out the drawers can come all the way out, I'm screwed.

Dont have a play room but plenty of toy storage in the boys bedroom :) so thought id share some pictures :)

I agree! Lovely room. I loooove the Ikea green canopy. That's on my wishlist when LOs a bit older. How old was your LO when he went in that bed? That's a great way to get some extra space for storage.

I also noticed you have the same wooden truck with the yellow front as my LO!

Is there any way to upload photos from your phone. I have some from our playroom but don't know how to upload them

thanks ladies - you cant see in the pic but their light on the sealing is an old fashioned wooden helicopter that was picked up in an antique shop in france :cloud9:

A week after his third birthday - He would have gone in it a while before that but we couldnt get it Ikea until then.

I think it depends on your LO - the bed itself is quite nice in the fact its completely boxed in round the sides. makes it feel more safe :) and the sides are nice and deep so even with the mattress the sides are still nice and high ensuring LO is safely snug inside.

Also my DS1 has never been one to get out of bed... we took the sides off his cot at 15 months even now when he wakes up he dont get out just shouts mummy daddy im awake lol.

the only thing I would say you have to be careful with is the ladder... im lucky both my boys even the 19 month old can go up and down the ladder safely but if you felt your LO would struggle you can get those style beds that have a ladder at an angle which are easier to climb like this one https://www.beddybows.com/cabin-bed-mid-sleeper-undertent

Not sure? I'm on my ipad I go to reply and further down the page under 'additional options' there's a manage attachments tab. Once you press that it leads you to attach photos. I'm not sure if that's the same for phones though?

Hope so! Would love to see pics!

Our conservatory is now the playroom. The toot toot bits are usually packed away in the brown storage box

It can get a little cold in the winter but it's nice to have somewhere we can separate all the kiddy bits and have our living room back

Love your Ikea kitchen. Ours is still plain but I've been considering doing it up.

Thank you. It was so cheap to do, I got a pink tester painter pot for 99p from b and q, an of cut of wood for a pound for the back and then a free wallpaper sample to put on it and glued it on! I made the bunting too

My 19 month olds new room. He's been using it as a playroom for a few weeks. Moving him in there tonight. Sorry, not sure how to add more than one pic.
