well, my story so far is that we have been ttc for 13 months now, not long compared to a lot of people but coming from an extremely big family I never dreamt it would take me more than a couple of months to become pg. Went to GP and he did a lot of hormome bloodwork and referred me to the hosp. From blood results it seemed like I didnt ovulate every month but doc didnt seem to think I had polycystic ovaries (unless I heard him wrong). My cycles last between 28-39 days so suppose it could be classed as irregular. Never thought you could have a period but still not ovulate but I am learning things!!! Went to the hosp last month for my first apt. Doc there did an internal scan and investigations. He said that I DID have polycystic ovaries and wanted me to go for an HSG on day 1 of my next cycle, he also suggested I lose some weight (didnt specify a certain amount so anything I lose should be good), then go back to him in 3 months. Went for the HSG a few days ago, it was ok although it was pretty painful at the end, I think I started to squirm a bit and if it had lasted any longer I think I may have been off the table but it was only for about 30 secs! I thought it was much more painful than period pain but everyone is different and as I said it was over so fast. Dont know the results yet, and think I am too impatient to wait til my next apt which isnt for another 2 months. Was thinking of maybe phoning the consultants secretary to see if she can tell me anything or maybe they will send the x-ray results to my GP, its all a waiting game and I am not so good at that! Have read that some people got pg after they had an HSG done so here is hoping. not sure what the next step will be when i see consultant, suppose it will depend on results, any ideas? meds if all is ok or lap and dye if not?
