Hi all,

I've posted regularly on this site and I've had lots of questions. Well, after all my questions have been answered and I've done some research, I think I may possibly have PCOS. I am devastated! DH and I are already in our 30's and I think our time is short as it is. And to possibly add PCOS on?!

I'll be posting on the PCOS threads to see if my symptoms match up. Currently, I have.....

--lower ab pain, sharp and dull, that lasts for about a week and a half during my O time
--annoying facial hairs that pop up
--belly fat that's been there forever it seems
--skin tags on my underarms
--irregular periods a long time ago, but they are regular now that I"m taking progesterone
--haven't gotten preg yet (obviously)

I just have a hunch and I'm seeing the doc soon to talk with her. I just feel like I'm about to embark on a long, frustrating, winding road....I just wanna cry all day!

I think a lot of us can say we have annoying facial hairs that pop up, pain around ovulation, belly fat and not being pregnant yet ... and we can't all have PCOS. :hugs: In fact the only thing I personally don't have in that list is irregular periods.

I'm not dismissing your fears, but try not to get yourself worked up about something that for now is just guess-work. There are lots of illnesses and diseases that many of us probably have symptoms of, but it doesn't mean we have those things. The body is just weird.

My sister thought she had PCOS and had a scan and didn't have any problems. Another user of these boards was absolutely convinced she had PCOS and had ticked off all the symptoms of this and it was found she hadn't got it.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed this is the case with you.

You sound so upset after this self-diagnosis. Please try not to worry so much about something that isn't necessarily true yet. I got diagnosed with a heart attack once after putting my symptoms into a symptom checker when I had experienced arm and jaw pain! Needless to say, it was wrong. I had a virus. Go and speak to your GP to put your mind at ease and get any tests if they feel them necessary. I hope all works out for you x

Thank you for putting things in perspective for me! I had a low, low moment last night and this morning, but I feel better now. I just really feel my age today I guess.

Thanks again silverbell! :hugs:

Fingers crossed for you that you don't have it. I had all the same symptons that you say u have. I went to the doc almost 99% sure that I had PCOS. I was shocked when all my ultrasounds and tests came back normal. Trying to lose some weight, thinking that is the main reason I haven't concieved yet. Keep your head up. Lots of baby dust to ya!

Angel---did you have lower ab pain (sharp and dull) for many weeks at a time? That's my main symptom that seems not normal for me.

I can't say that I had that. I would schedule an appt to see someone. Better to go and find out instead of stressing. I know how if feels. I'm not getting any younger either. I will be 30 this year. If you do have it they can put you on Clomid. The doctor told me that if I did have it not to worry that there were things to help concieve.

Well, I was just told by my doc. today that I have some traces of PCOS as well. My facial hair (that I keep plucked, of course), acne and my weight are all factors... I go back in 2 weeks for metformin and then clomid after that. BOOOOOOOO!!!!! I thought this be a good day, but turned out sh*tty after all! At least I KNOW for sure my issue, and that really eased my mind some...

Hope the best for you hon! We just never know, do we? :hugs:

Hi Hemmysgirl,

I have pcos and my only symptom is very long cycles (up to 6 months). The truth is everyone's different and Google is a nightmare! I'm the same and convince myself of the worst (just been googling about sa's as my OH's result are due tomorrow!).

I'm sure you're fine. I'm quite positive about my pcos. Even though I'm 31, I'm convinced if I ov'd more frequently I'd have my bfp by now. I hope to be prescribed clomid in May which should help me ov.

Gl and I hope you'll have your bfp soon x
