I think we finally settled on names!

Names are hard! We already had a boy name decided, both just happy with it. But the girl name, we struggled!

We first liked Estelle but no one else in the family liked it. I know it's our choice but we thought we'd keep an open mind and just see if something better would come up. I then really loved Abby or Abigail, but SO was not liking it! We then thought Elise but everyone was still a little "eh" about it. But I think we finally settled on a name that everyone will be happy with.

We're French, although I'm stronger in English (I'm the black sheep of my French family ) so we wanted something that could work in both languages.

So I think we'll be settling on Elodie, or Ellie as a nn. It's easy to say in both English and French and it has a nice ring to it. I just can't wait until I find out the gender already! December 16th feels so far away!

They're both beautiful names. Any thoughts on middle names?

Not sure, at least for the girl. I'm not one to care much for them! Usually we just go with the tradition of our godparent's first name, depending on sex. Like my own middle name is my godmother's first name.

However there's no doubt that if I have a boy, I'm honouring my grandfather by putting his name as a middle name. So it'd be Gabriel Gregoire. It doesn't sound nice but it's fine. We don't use middle names other than for legal documents anyway.

The main issue here with Estelle is that it's a French name people have heard of but it's usually to much older women. So people seem to see it for old women and not a baby :\ But I had never heard of it before and don't see it that way at all. To me, when I think of someone named Estelle, I think of a really pure young girl.

But yeah, go ahead, I definitely don't mind if you think it'd be a possible baby name for you
