i have an OBGYN.
and it's a boy OBGYN.
he's very nice and everything.
but i still feel a little strange.
anyone else have a boy doctor?

In the UK, you can switch if you are unhappy. Maybe see if you can do the same?

i could, but there arent really any midwives that arent in a group practice where i live, and i think i'd be even less comfortable with multiple people.

I've got a male OBGYN, too! I'm using him because my sister did; he delivered my nephew. He's super nice, and he's older with like five or six kids. It would be a lot more awkward for me if he were hot or something. And it was sort of awkward at first, but it's gotten progressively less awkward as time has passed. At this point, any sense of modesty I ever had is totally out the window. :haha:

haha that's so strange! mine has five or six himself!
ahahah i spent the entire time i had my pants off chatter away to LO to calm my nerves. i kept telling it, i'm doing this for you. i wouldn't do this for just anyone. i hope you know that. this is for you.
haha i think if my dr had heard he would have though i'd lost it in there xD

 Don't worry! You'll get used to having him down there in your business. I can't say it ever got less weird for me, but it definitely got less awkward, iykwim? I think it'll always feel weird having someone down there that I'm not romantically involved with :haha:, but I'm pretty comfortable with my OBGYN now, so our doctor-patient relationship is way less awkward. Though, after the first time, I totally didn't want to look him in the face afterward.

Hunny if you want a female OBGYN you could easily switch doctors! You dont have to have a male doctor if you dont want one! In my practice there are both male and female doctors. We even have a male midwife! I actually prefer one of the male doctors but thats because I feel he is very professional and I like his personality alot. The thing I find the funniest is when he was describing what contractions felt like. The whole time I was thinking.. but how could you possibly know!!?? Haha. But I guess its the same as having a woman doctor who has never given birth herself.

ahaha. i'll probably be that way when i go on tuesday. but i mostly just feel weird because, like you said, there is no romantic relationship there.

my OBGYN is a guy
he is kind old and to be honest feminine but i like him.
it was ackward at first but he was my moms doc and my aunt works for him
but id rather hve him cuz all the female OBGYN's are snotty and nasty

I have a midwife but when I was in hospital had a lovely male doctor.
I don't really mind who I see to be honest, as they all know what they are doing.
If you aren't happy though you could switch?

xxx

Mann im so glad in the UK we dont have to be 'examined' till were in labour lol

I would be the same about a guy dr

xx

i have a male obgyn and he's the best. if you're so unhappy with your obgyn then switch, it's really easy to do that. i'm sure he could refer you to someone.

I have a female OB and it's still awkward! XD (I think it may be just me though :haha:) But she gave birth to on of my best friends' brothers and both of my cousins...and my mom's friends' kids!
