i'm on maternity leave till march but stop getting maternity pay in dec is there any benefits or help i can get to tide me over till march when i go back x

Go to your local Job Centre hun. I am guessing you would be entitled to something because you dont have anyone to support you at home..

While I was on maternity leave, for the first 9 months I was entitled to SMP, Child and working tax credits and the child benefit. I took additional maternity leave so the last three months were unpaid and I could only claim child tax credits and child benefit.

I was advised as the last three months is optional I wasn't entitled to anything else. Although, I know sometimes it can depend on your area or who you speak to!

i spoke to a lone parent advisor briefly she said i could get income support but we shall see
