Just phoned L&D they are so nice! Lol asked me lots of questions and I said I was coping ok at home at the moment so I'm just having a bath and staying home till I need gas and air! They are coming every 4-5mins lasting 40-50seconds (it sounds worse than it is lol) I am coping but they do hurt like hell now lol anyway next tine I update will be wen I'm going to hospital probably, thanks for all ur comments ladies I'm quite nervous now it's happening lol xx

Im a bit jealous as my contractions aint started getting painfull yet was told sometimes a bath can make them worse but i dont know maybe i should go for one and see.

Well my waters have just gone.. They didn't gush but I was sat on the sofa and all of a sudden I got really wet lol so run to the toilet and it was trickling down my leg lol so L&D have told me to go in now! So I'm going and il update when I can x

What do proper labour contractions feel like?
I should know but as this is my first baby its hard to tell?
I thought when your waters broke the contractions wernt long off?

well the midwife told me to wait till i got 3 contractions within 10mins or if i got any pains that were unbearable...

Good luck Jacks mummy - I am still jealous!

Tamarra, it can be hours after your waters break before you feel contractions. usually they say if you haven't started contracting within 24 hours of your waters breaking they will induce you.

You will know what contractions feel like when they hot up, to start with you may not know you are having them, but they will get gradually closer together, last longer and be more painful. By the time you are having 3 in 10 minutes they will be pretty painful. Good luck

Yeah thats why the midwife says they dont need to see me till tomorrow at 9am.
She said unless i get contractions or cant handle the pain then to come in.
If not i think she said take it easy and have a bath/shower.
