It wouldnt let me write on my other thread but i got to 8cm before the amazing epidural was put in place, im fuckin starvin but told to not eat coz ill throw it up.. ahh, so relaxed! xxx

It's true, but I found the epidural slowed my labour. I got one at 8cm with my daughter, but they didn't know I was 8cm already. They checked after they gave it to me. They said had they known, they'd never have given it to me.

But I did throw up...and my daughter came out too quickly, and I ended up with 86 stitches. Vomitting during the pushing stage pushes all the muscles necessary for pushing a baby out, and if you push too hard, which happens when vomitting during labour, you'll end up with a massive tear like I did. As a result, I suffer from coital incontinence now and surgery is the only way to repair that issue. I can't have an orgasm without peeing everywhere, or I have to stop before climax, pee, and then work up again.

Trust me, you don't want to suffer through that.

But the epidural at 8cm slowed my labour. It was an hour and a half after I got it than my daughter was finally born. With my son, I didn't get it. They just broke my water at 7cm, and 3 minutes later, I was 10cm, and 12 minutes after that, my son was born. Had I known, I'd have never gotten the epidural. I don't plan on it this time either.

Wow what a horrible experience!!

But woo hoo original poster!! I hope you have your little one soon! So jealous.

Woooo!!! Kira you're finally in labour!! Me too but its all happening very slowly for me' :(

Good luck hun! Cant wait for pics and birth story x

At last!!!!!! Congrats, I bet you have your little one by now! So happy for you after all this waiting around.
I'll be looking out for your announcement very soon :happydance:

:happydance: hopefully u have ur little girl in ur arms by now x

Not a particularly nice story thrown in randomly there when you've just announced that you've had a late epi yourself.....but hoping it's all done with now and you're on :cloud9:

I don't think the story was thrown in randomly. It's important to get a balanced view on things like this and I for one, see no point for censorship. It's a intervention, and as such, women should be aware that things can and do go wrong also. It's weird that the medical establishment plays down that side of things.

this would be true if a lady was asking for information about it beforehand but this isnt much use when the lady involved has already decided to go ahead with it and has had the epidural! it could just cause a lot of panic and worry.
im sure u will be fine though Kira and cant wait to hear when your princess has arrived x

Agreed with both. If i'd of just read that after saying that i'd had a late epi I would of been freaking out.
It was a little unnecassary in my eyes.

Hope everything has gone okay Kira :flower:

OP wasn't asking for advice or experiences, she is in labour and was saying she feels relaxed and good. I think it was an entirely inappropriate place to post that story. Labour is scary enough as it is without hearing horror stories in the middle of it!

For what its worth i had my epi at 8cm and although it only worked a little bit i didn't suffer any lasting side effects from it. Good luck hun!

The OP does not need to here about horror stories like that while she is in labour for god sakes! I hope she dosen't read this!

Totally totally disagree, this thread is about Kira's labour and to give her support.

I think most people would agree that etiquette would dictate that you don't discuss your own labour horror stories on somebody else's labour thread when they are actually IN labour!!

Hey Kira here is a positive story for you babes

I also got a late epidural and I also started being sick and retching when the time came, only problem the doctors didn't realise it was time lol because I had dilated that fast, so in between retches im trying to say to hubby baby, coming and pointing at my foof lol and hubby saying to the doctor "I think she is saying baby is coming" and doctor said "no she's not ready" and Im retching and pointing and nodding, just couldn't say YES baby is bloody coming so anyway the doctor See's my face and has a look and low and behold out slithered Madison lol

And it was the best ever as the doctor explained because my body was contracting my muscles naturally it was doing the job for me and the rest of my body new what to do

and not a single tear,graze,nothing

and I was very worried about tearing again as I had only had my son 11 and a half months previous and I had a bad tear and was worried it would happen again with it being so soon

I love the fact that i can tell everyone that I sicked my daughter out and it was perfect

Hopefully this one will be just as good!!!

Oh and I also have a friend who just had a baby a couple of days ago and she said it took her 4hrs to go from 8cm to 10cm and she had NO pain relief

Each body and birth experience are different regardless of pain relief!!!!:happydance: GOOD LUCK KIRA!!!!

Oh wow you're in labour now, good luck!

Well. to be honest, does it matter when the story got wrote?! everyone on this site has seen a few bad storys from other people from this site. she cant be suffering that much as she is 8CM dilated and on bloody bnb!:dohh: people come on this site to get info and experiences and a chat. if people want to throw in thier experiences, then let them! if she was that botherd about being in labour at 8cm dilated, the last thing she should be doing is being on BNB!:winkwink::baby::flower:

How rude!!!! She was sharing with BnB members that she is in labour and 8cm dilated, She has had the epidural hence why the pain isn't too bad! I am sorry but you are wrong here, If i posted that i was in labour i certainly would not want to here some ones horror story, It may not bother you but it would certainly bother me and plenty of other women on here, It is scary enough giving birth with out hearing a load of horrible birth stories!!! The reason she is on BnB is most probablly to share what is happening, Seen as she has been for the past 9 month's of her pregnancy!

It would certainly bother me too. I'd be terrified if I was feeling all relaxed and calm after an epidural and then came on to see that posted!
Yes it may be a site to share experiences but I think it's bloody bang out of order to come on to a post thats all happy and calm and write a story for like that...at the end of the day it had no need to be written in this thread AT all imo :dohh:
