When i renewed my tax credits in april i put my ohs wage down as 18k. As he gets comission if he sells more i put his earnings higher than his normal salary. Well we have now been looking at his average monthly income and by ths time april 2014 comes he would of actually earned around 15k instead of 18k.
Also ive put my income down as 1600 but i will not be returning to work in Jan so i actually have no earnings for the tax year 2013 -2014 as i am claiming maternity allowance and im sure they said they doesnt count that.

So really our income would go down £4600 for 2013-2014.

Ive told them about ohs wages have gone down to 15k.

Will this change my tax creds now?
When would i tell them that i will not be returning to work? Im due back at work the end of Jan.

Its all so confussing!!

I believe for income drop 2.5k would be disregarded but anything more than that should make a dofference to what you get. I think for you not going back to work I wpuld think you let them know around the time you are due back? not 100% though so maybe check.

Xx
