I am at my wits end as my elderly dog keeps pooing on the carpet. He gives no warning and the vet can't find anything wrong. My 8 month baby is nearly at crawling stage and I'm worried for his health.

Has anyone got any ideas on what I could do? I don't know how much longer my husband will put up with it as the dog was mine before I knew him and he's never been that keen on him anyway.

I got lino. Carpet, pets and babies do not work in general. My dog also went like that in the end and she was young. She had a kidney prob and did pooh too. Watch out for blood in urine or constantly urinating. But yes you may need lino, wood floor or tiles, more hygienic.

I'm not sure how I feel about these, but https://www.dog-nappy.co.uk/

I'm not sure where you live but could you keep the dog in one room and let the baby in the other? Or take it to a different vets who can maybe find the cause.
