hey there,
im on my 4th try of clomid (along with other helper drugs) and if my ultrasound next week shows no action, we are onto injectables. not really looking forward to forking out the dough (our insurance does not cover fertility) but that seemed to be our FS next step.
I think that IUI usually goes hand in hand with the shots. it doesnt make too much sense to 'blow' all that money on the shots with no monitoring. i could be wrong tho (and blunt!) . Monitoring at the very least would be done if you were just BDing naturally.
im sort of happy if we have to continue after this month, to get off clomid. this last cycle ive started seeing things that arent there, which i know is not good. Im tired of fighting off invisible things outside at 5 am when i do dog potty breaks. ><
my doctor really cant believe the near 0 change on my ultrasounds with the 'aggressive' amounts of clomid and other drugs ive been on, i think ill just give up if the injectables fail to show any bigger follies.
so far our 4 months have made me gain a bunch of weight i originally lost for fertility reasons, and i get more pissy month to month.
i do wonder though, are there any doctors out there that wait longer than the day 14 etc to measure follicles? especially with women that do not cycle naturally?
im tempted to ask my doctor about that. if at day 14 they are itty bitty, why not wait and scan again in ... 5 days? see what is happening? perhaps that is a waste of time and money, but for someone that may have a long cycle, wouldnt that sort of make sense?
each time i cancel a cycle after a failed ultrasound i always feel guilty starting the provera. flashes of "what if i just wait a few more days" and see if ovulation actually happens. im just curious to hear if anyone elses doctor does do that. i guess it would help if i had my own cycles
now that ive derailed....
yes i think IUI with jabs is a regular thing and probably more preferred. ! good luck!
