Introduce your VIP (Very Important Preemie!)

All your babies are amazing and soo cute!! no one fully understands what you as a mum goes through and am so happy that you all got a happy ending.

My wee superstar Emma was born at 26 weeks weighing 1lb 5oz, emergency c sect due to iugr. Loads of usual problems collapsed lungs, pda, rop and the worst nec where half her small intenstine was removed. Spent 8 months in yorkhill sick kids and now 10 months old and eating solids and everything, weighs 14lbs 3oz and amazes me everyday. She went through so much pain and was starved soo long but was soo determined she was staying, i love her so much and am so proud to be her mummy. xxx

how lovely, well done. she is gorgeous!

Dann - She's stunning!! She was so small, just like Lakai. I never thought I would see a baby in real life that small, let alone it be my own. They are such small amazing little babies.

Superheroes!! The whole lot of them!!

Wow, for all we had to go thrugh with Abby, I just can't imagine being a NICU nurse. I found the staff in the unit were absolutely amazing. It takes a very special person to do that job and the good ones made the whole thing so much easier for us. Good luck with your studies, the babies and parents you will be looking after will be lucky to have you!

I'm going to be greedy and introduce 4 of my 4 preemies pictures of 3 now and will get some nicu pics and pic of scott now on pc later.

Here we have baby harley born at 35 weeks and 8.1lb he is now 7 months old he had a pnumothorax (sp?) and was in nicu for a week.

then there is Jack who was a 26+weeker and was 3lb who was in hospital for 6 weeks and then the next day stopped breathing and his heart stopped but we got him back and he spent a further 4 months in hospital due to cronic lung disease, a pda, 2 holes in the heart, reflux etc etc the list seems to go on, he has started his first day of school today and is now 3 and is nocturnal o2 dependant and has problems with his bowels so to see him today in his uniform was a miracle to me.

Then there is Karlum born at 34 weeks and was 6.6lb and is now 5 in october and started his first day of proper school today, karlum is autistic and hyperactive suffers with asthma but is a delightful little boy.

I also have scott who was a 27 weeker at 3.2lb he was in hospital for 8 weeks and is now a super fit and healthy 7 year old who thinks he is a teenager lol.

I love hearing these stories, of the ones who have grown up and continue to amaze with their progress. They've already proven themselves to be fighters and will take whatever the world throws at them.

Have to say, they were all quite big for preemies. Is that unusual? (Excuse my ignorance!)
