It is fine in moderation, but as the previous poster said, it's best to avoid fish that contains mercury.
I love fish and chips but found I couldn't eat it in pregnancy as it made me feel so full and sick!
Remember when you were a kid people told you fish was "brain food"? Fish is very good for you and your growing baby. There are very few varieties that you have to avoid ( I bet you are not eating shark or swordfish) and even tuna is ok in moderation (a couple of times a week). White fish is not generally high in mercury so a haddock and chips from the fish and chip shop once a week is totally fine.
