Is having two cats together better than one?

My experience is that if from same litter than ots cool but if they're from two different litters then they'll both be fighting to be dominat especially if they're both males. I never had just one cat lol... I thought it be nicer to have two so they can grow up together.

We got three brothers at the moment but one of them doesn't get along with the other two
