I dunno why I've only just noticed ? I use aptimil and it really stinks ! I was worried it was my box so got a new one and same ... Even washed the bottles again, same, even got worried it was the steriliser .

Anyone else ?

Yep, some brands smell worse than others. And formula spit up is rank!

Yeah I don't think it has a nice smell particularly but it tastes ok. At least the normal ones do, we had a run on comfort milk which is a bit bitter, and then on prescription milk which is just horrendous. It's quite nice to finally be back on the normal stuff!

Ugh yeah, it's horrible. The toddler milks smell a bit better but only because they put flavourings in them. I couldn't believe it once when we ran out of cows' milk and OH used formula in his tea, disgusting!

Haha yeah it hums! I did the same as you thought it was the bottles!

Omg! How could your OH do that! Lol :haha:

They all stink! Some worse than others. In the US, I've found that Similac smells the least yucky.

You think regular formula is bad you should smell nutramigen, that stuff is seriously vile. Neocate isn't as bad but still smells like gone off instant mash and splits when left for longer than an hour, regular formula is so much better!!

Agreed. I don't use formula, but the times I've tried to get him to take it Similac smells the least yucky. Enfamil and Gerber Good Start have made me puke before just from the smell. As soon as I get a whiff of the formula, my stomach churns and I'm headed to the bathroom. It's awful!

My MIL thought that putting formula in coffee would be okay. She was trying not to be wasteful with it since we never used it. I puked when I smelled my coffee too (it was gerber good start). I think I might have a weak stomach.

Charlotte completely rejected Emfamil. Ew it stinks!

That is HILARIOUS about your MIL. So gross!!!

She actually feeds her 28lb cat formula too. I told her that that wasn't a good idea, but she didn't believe me. :dohh:

When my sister came to visit I poured her a glass of formula hqhahaha she drank it too :haha:

Smells vile on Aptamil x

I sometimes supplement with Enfamil and my daughter guzzles it! LOL

Yes, it stinks. The first time we supplemented LO with Similac I was sick from the smell, especially compared to BM. I think it's the iron? We use Gerber Good Start now and it's actually a little less offensive to my nose but then again I'm more used to it now.

Yeah, it smells gross! I have no idea how LO loves it so much :haha: Especially since I used to combi feed, so she'd have sweet smelling/tasting breast milk one feeding then stinky formula the next...she didn't seem to care!

When my mum was visiting a few weeks back she wanted a cup of tea but we had run out of milk. I suggested using some of our formula and she did! At the time I didn't think anything of it but now reading these replies I am thinking it is pretty grim!

And yes, it does stink. Not the actual tub I don't find, but the actual milk in the bottle once it's made up. Totally stinky!

I think Aptamil is the worst for this but my LO was happy to drink it. I thought Hipp smelt and tasted better myself but he didn't seem to agree.

I believe it is due to the vitamin powder and the omega fish oils that are added to the formula to make sure babies get all their nutritional requirements.
