Is it normal to feel horrible hours after the glucose test?

I just had my 1 hour glucose test today. They wouldn't let me drink any water during the test even though it made me feel hot and faint. She could barely draw my blood I was so dehydrated. It took 2 arms and 2 hands till she finally got it. I had the drink at 8, had my blood drawn at 9 its 10:30 now and I still feel queasy.

I tried to eat and drink a bit but it just made me feel sick.

Should I be worried that I might be diabetic?

I have no risk factors but this reaction doesnt seem normal.

No hun , it took me two days to feel myself again, i was quiet tired and i passed my GTT so don worry

Sugars might be high. I have gestational diabetes and I felt really bad after doing the glucose test

Yes I felt like if taken a beating afterwards ! Tired sick anxious more sick more tired...

I felt sick the whole day after my 1-hour, and even worse after my 3-hour. I passed the 3-hour so it doesn't necessarily mean you have diabetes. :)

I felt like total crap the rest of the day after taking the test--was dizzy, sick to my stomach, tired, really really thirsty. I was so worried that it meant I had gd, but I passed the test. So no, it's not really a measure of whether or not you have it.

I was tired after my 1 hr and after my 3 hr (which I passed) I felt hot, dizzy,( almost passed out during the test) sick to my stomache, thirsty and no energy for 2 days :/

I had a really nasty headache after drinking it, and felt queasy for most of the evening.(Mine was done as a surprise after my appointment last week at 6pm) I did pass my test, but I was worried much like you that I was going to fail because of how I felt, so hopefully yours will turn out the same!

I had mine this morning aswell drabk half the bottle then was sick its disgusting. Because they didnt know how much i had actually taken they have told me to go in again thursday morning but ive felt rubbish after it tired dizzy and some stomach cramps x

Oh no, I have mine in an hour! Hope it goes smoothly. I don't remember how I felt after taking it last time.
Hope you feel better. I don't think that tiredness means diabetes though.

I was so sick after my GTT on both pregnancies....felt awful & went to bed for the rest of the day both times! But I passed them both times too!

I felt like total crap the whole day too! They told me to try eating something with lots of protein instead of carbs/sugars because that'll make you feel worse.

I felt perfectly fine after my 1hr....amazingly fine, actually. But I failed it.

Felt HORRIBLE after the 3-hr (and had to call in sick to work) but passed with flying colors. Go fig.

Oh no, this really worries me! I have a lunch date planned with a friend I haven't seen in a while a couple hours after:(

I personally just felt a bit nauseated for a couple of minutes after having that evil drink, mostly though I just felt extremely tired for the rest of the day, to the point where I had to have a nap, something I rarely give into.

I also felt terrible after mine! I had to lie down while I was waiting for them to draw my blood. The rest of the day and part of the next day I was useless. But I also passed.

Well... I started feeling better yesterday evening. This morning I got my result back. I passed. I am sooooo grateful because the thought of doing that test again is horrible.

My level was 100 and anything under 130 is passing.

Congrats. And in case anyone else is searching on this, I felt fine after my 3 hour test (didn't do a 1 hour, risk factors put me straight into the 3 hour test) and I failed miserably at 20 weeks.

How you feel after the test is not a good indicator.

I threw up all over the waiting room and ladies bathroom after mine
