I just got a phone call from a nursery that I had an interview with about 3 months ago.
At the time, I was newly pregnant but didn't say anything.
Initially I didn't get the job, but obviously someone pulled out and now I've been offered it.
After being unemployed for nearly 6 months I immediately said yes, but now I'm wondering what's going to happen with regards to being pregnant. I know I don't have to tell them legally until at least 24 weeks (and touch-wood, I'm not showing yet) but surely it's not right and I can't just leave after 5/6 months?

And to make it worse its an apprenticeship...

i know from my own experience that you won't be entitled to any maternity pay as you won't have worked enough weeks to qualify

I accepted a job when i was 3 months pregnant but they knew i was pregnant and it was temporary role.
I think they deserve to know, just to prevent any bad feeling. It won't be a very nice work environment if you tell them at 24 weeks and they turn nasty. Some work places can be very bitchy. I might be wrong though!
Are you planning on going back to work relatively soon after you've had LO? if this is the case, they might be more understanding.

I knew I wouldn't get maternity pay so I wasn't too bothered about that.
I think I'll just be honest with them and if they decide its not worth it, then so be it.
My OH says theres no pressure on me to get a job but I feel bad for not making any money. But then again, if he had his way, I'd be wrapped up in cotton wool for another 6 months :p
