Is it safe to go from ibuprofen to calpol

Hi, my son has been ill with a bad cough and cold, he was having ibuprofen but I think it's giving him an upset stomach as he has had diahorria a few times, he last has ibuprofen at 3:30pm, is it safe to switch him to calpol 5 hours later

Absolutely. When my kids are very sick we alternate between the two. Hope your LO feels better soon.

Yep when DS broke his leg they gave him both at the same time for the pain. They can be alternated (they are two completely different drugs) but keep an eye on the dosages of both

Just so you know kids should always take ibuprofen with food so it doesn't upset their tummies.

Just remember ibruprofen can irritate stomach so I do not use it when they have not eaten much x

I don't see why not. I gave calpol yesterday but today used nurofene instead.
