My LO was sleeping in the bassinet feature of the pack and play. But after he learned to roll over the mattress began to tilt. So I moved him to the bottom of the pack and play. The is a strip around the bottom of the pack and play that is not mesh. I'm worried he will get his face smooshed in the side and not be able to breath.

Is that fabric breathable??

Which pack and play do you have?? LO sleeps on the bassinet mostly during the day and she sleeps in the bottom of the P&P, I just place her in the center where she would have to travel a long way to reach the walls, which are mesh… and she doesn´t crawl yet…. maybe you can use something breathable to block his way to the walls???

This is the one we have https://www.toysrus.com/buy/play-yards/graco-pack-n-play-with-cuddle-cove-lx-rocking-seat-play-yard-brompton-1842962-17197726

Please, please, please do NOT put anything in your pack and play besides your baby. Consumer product safety commission keeps close watch on the safety of pack n plays. Checkout their website to see if there has been a recall. Putting anything in to block the opening could allow your sweet baby to pull it out and suffocate or choke.

Guess it all depends on the baby´s age, of course it is not the same with a NB than with an infant or a toddler… when we were at the hospital the nurses placed one rolled flannel blanket on each side of LO to prevent her from rolling over. Of course you are not going to block his face and you will ALWAYS SUPERVISE your baby. You can also swaddle him so its not as easy for him to move around. Another thing you can do is to place your own face against the surface you´re concerned about and see for yourself if it is breathable.:flower:

I believe it is safe, and I agree, I wouldn't put anything else in there either.

I found a mattress for my pack and play at a store where i bought, measurement fits perfectly for it. My baby has been sleeping in the pack and play next to my bed since she was 3 months old. I love it & I find i completely safe. My nephew slept in it till he was 1 and half. My niece slept in it till she was a year in a half. No one ever had problems.

My LO slept in her pack n' play till just a few days ago. I put some padding on the bottom so it was a little more comfy, but we never had any issues with it at all.
