Just keep thinking to myself, I don't want to look back after having baby and think "ah why didn't I think of that!" ... I'm trying to be a bit organised where I can, keep the house relatively clean and tidy (where possible - not as easy this time with 4y/o!) people keep asking me if I'm nesting ... I think I am a bit but also don't you find after having children you have no choice but to do loads of housework regularly anyway? Lol as soon as you've done it it's ruined again!

If I get the chance I want to print and organised my photos up to date into albums.

Anybody got any other ideas? I thought maybe best to ask on baby club (might ask in 3rd tri too?)

I froze a lot of meals, and that was really helpful. Especially single servings that you can reheat in the microwave and eat with one hand. Some babies do NOT want to be put down!

Exactly this! When I was in the hospital my husband's best friend was looking after our dog, and he and his wife came over and cleaned the house and filled our freezer with a homemade lasagne in single servings just in cheap take away containers ready for the microwave :) it was so, so good not having to worry about making dinner for a while. When you're so tired with a newborn, you forget to eat, and then when you remember to, you don't want to cook.

Honestly, I wish I had documented it more. I had a diary which I wrote up to 16 weeks then I forgot about. I read it all back the other day, it was lovely to look back - but I have nothing from the second half of my pregnancy! Only about two photos exist with me with my bump. I cant actually remember what I looked like pregnant.

I didn't find freezer meals helpful if I'm honest, but I really lost my appetite after she was born and had to really want something to eat it.

I wish I'd taken more photos, I can't find any bump photos 😞. And relaxed more. Next baby id probably use the last few weeks to spend time with DS.

Also wish I'd taken more bump photos. I've got one from when I had my first son, and that's it!
Eta I don't think I'll be pregnant again so that's that

I wish I took bump pictures but because I hate taking photos of myself I never did but now I can't remember what I looked like pregnant.
I also wished I took everything in more being pregnant I felt like I was wishing away the months especially the last few weeks as wanted to meet my baby but I wished I enjoyed the pregnancy more
Spending time with my partner, I didn't realise that the first few months i would be apart from my partner due to breast feeding and fussing over our daughter and him working and being tired it felt like we were never going to spend any time together but when we got in a routine by 6 weeks we were fine :D

I would say sleeping and lying in in the morning! But you have a 4 year old, so you probably can't do that anymore already. But I wish I'd appreciated how little I would get to do that again and not felt like I needed to get up every day early and be productive. I should have just slept more!

As for planning ahead, what I did do, which was helpful, was I planned out several weeks worth of meals, created a shopping list and put them in an online order. I didn't batch cook and freeze anything (we don't have enough freezer space anyway and I prefer to cook fresh food), but I did organise everything I needed. So when our daughter arrived, I just pushed deliver online and food came to us and we didn't have to worry about running to the store for anything. Also, just lots of healthy snacks as well, like nuts and dried fruit, that you can snack on quickly without any cooking or prep. I wish I would have gotten paper plates and plastic forks, etc. for the first few weeks though, to cut down on the washing up. I do plan to do that next time.

But really, mostly just sleep. Maybe go to bed early a bit some nights when you can and make the most of it now.

Housework wouldn't be on my list.

Just relax and spend quality one on one time with your eldest, it's harder to come by after you have two.
