Is this a good diet day? Tips/advice

Hi, I need advice, i thought i was doing well on my diet but i have gained pounds! 14.9 now :cry: and when i started i was 14.4 :cry: I just don't understand, how can i put on weight when i have been eating less!
So I have decided maybe i need to toughen up on my eating, excercise i do what i can when i can - walk to college (30 minutes) 3 times a week, walk the dog every night. I don't want to do too much too quick and put me off.
So today -
breakfast - small bowl of special k
lunch - prawn linguine
dinner - thinking tomato soup
snacks - a nectarine and apple.

Excersize - walked to dentists instead of car - 15 minutes there and 15 back. Cleaning tonight a big building. Used my slendertone machine to try strengthen back and tummy muscles. 100 squats.

Does this sound okay, so far i've stuck to it and still have soup and apple to eat, only bad thing is i dont finish work till 8 so wont have my soup and apple till then.

Also can someone give me suggestions for food for when i'm in college, they don't have a microwave or anything and only healthy thing they serve is like tuna salad which makes me feel sick :/ Any ideas? They have no where to store food either so has to be soemthing that doesn't need refrigerated!
 
And i failed already. Had 4 chocolate biscuits, what is wrong with me i cant diet for even 1 day :cry:
 
Aww it really is tough to get going! First thing, scales are good in order to get an overall trend but they have weaknesses, weight varies alot depending on a variety of factors. If you are holding water, Egypt. Time of month/ovulation time, if you are dehydrated or constipated, if you've eaten alot of salt or dense foods. So please don't let it get u down! I find calorie counting helps you to understand portion sizes, don't go hungry! I tend to binge/eat naughty foods if I feel hungry! Eat lots of protein (lean meat/seafood/eggs) lots of fruit and veggies, low fat dairy food and if you do have a treat count it in!
Drink lots of water!
A day for me could be:
B: fresh fruit salad with natural yoghurt with walnuts and raisins: 200 cals
Snack: one egg omelette with smoked salmon and cheese triangle 180 caps
Lunch: small snack wrap with salad and prawns, drizzle lemon and tbsp natural yoghurt and piece of fruit eg. Plum 220 cals
Snack: handful olives/ pickled onions 50 calls
Dinner: chicken/pork/beef/fish and a huge portion of vegetables or homemade Bolognese/ chilli with salad around 350-400 cals
More fruit or water biscuits*and portion cheese at night 100-200 cals
This is just an example, I do have chocolate or a glass of wine too, just count the calories!
As for exercise you don't have to go mad, just try and move more, I like putting on music and dancing around the kitchen.
I lost over 4 stones and have kept it of so it is doable! Good luck!

Oh yeah take a sandwich or wrap or fruit to work
 
Thank you, today made me feel crap, i just completely crashed and burned i planned to be good, i did the excersize side (not much but a starter) but food wise i got so hungry i had 4 choco biscuits and a sausage roll (ones from asda) :cry: I got home from work and the tomato soup i had before work had worn off, tried 2 glasses of water but felt even more hungry so had a cheese string and that seems to have held off the hunger. I just feel quite lost, i had an urge for a fudge choco yoghurt but didnt give in with that one which is a lot for me :blush:
Tomorrow im hoping will be better. Does this sound reasonable?
Bfast - 2 scrambled eggs - 200 cal
lunch - corned beef sandwhich on 50/50 bread with light butter - 400
dinner - meatball liguine and salad - 400
snacks - nectarine and apple -150 cal and if hungry at night have pickled onions - 50.
Going for a power walk for one hour with a friend at night, walking to and from colege (about an hour)
- 1200 calories all together .. even on a good day i eat too much :( the thought of eating less than that makes me wanna cry, hoping because i will be walking at least 1 hour and a half thats 300 calories burned at least so technically brings it down to 900 calories for the day?
I'm still wanting the fudge yoghurt so will i save it and have that as a treat if i behave until saturday? Or would that defeat purpose of losing weight?
 
Feel a bit better, i joined my fitness pal, if i want to lose 2 lbs a week i should have 1400 calories a day and do 4 30 minutes doses of excerise a week.
Today even with the sins i did food wise i put in the cleaning i did at work and the walk and still have 476 calories remaining! I feel a lot better, im hungry again but going to not eat until morning!
 
Yes 1400-1500 sounds more reasonable, if you feel deprived you will crack and that can cause you to give up! I found that at the beginning it was harder but after a while it all comes together. Mfp is a good tool for tracking calories and can give you motivation. Just think, you may lose almost a stone by Christmas!
 
If you feeling hungry have a hot drink. Sounds odd but honestly its a great appitite supresant (sp)
