Is this normal? (ultrasounds)

Last Thursday, I got my first ultrasound at 10w5d... Baby was very active and hard to get a measurement/picture of. The doctor said that I was measuring 10w4d, so almost perfect. Now, they scheduled me for ANOTHER scan for between 12 & 13 weeks which is on the 29th.... I wasn't expecting another until my Level 2 ultrasound (Gender determination) in November... Is this normal? I didn't think anything of it in the office, and they didn't say anything was wrong but now it has me paranoid!

They can't do the NT measurement until you are at least 11 weeks. The standard time is 12 weeks. If you don't want the NT screening then you don't need to be scanned again, although I would just to have an extra peek!
There's no reason to be concerned as they have said your scan was spot on.

The scan between 12 & 13 weeks is for the nuchal fold test. If you've opted out of it, then you wouldn't have a scan then.

Oh, okay... I wish they would TELL me when and why they are doing things, they never seem to! They just tell me when to schedule... Even the first ultrasound - they just decided to do it then instead of scheduling it I had no clue I was getting it done. (I felt bad cause they had to deal with my unshaven legs, usually I'm much better prepared! )
