Today i started to get this pain at the top of my left bum cheek, it hurt when i walked.

It calmed down but tonight i was puuting some clean sheets on the bed and OWWWWWWWW when i stood up i couldnt stand on my left leg. My dh struggled to help me to bed and now i dont think i can get back up.

I've never had this before just wondered if this sounds like what it could be from any who has experianced this.

Sounds like it could be. I had a problem with my sciatic nerve for about 2 weeks and sometimes it was agony! It went from my lower back down my right bum cheek, and it was quite a shooting pain. Not nice.

Just try and move a little but dont put too much wieight on it for too long. Mine went away naturally within a few weeks, and Ive read that usually it corrects itself within 6 weeks but if not then just mention it to your mw or doctor. Hope that helped :)

sciatic pain usually radiates down your leg...but it still could be that or another nerve that's pinched. our joints are so loose things get pinched all over the place!

and there are some good sciatic stretches that you can find online...kind of hard to describe, but it really helps. I've had sciatica since my younger days!

Sounds like it could be hun, I had this in the early weeks apparently due to bubba lying on my sciatic nerve and it was absolutely agony. The pain was in my lower back, down my left bum cheek and down my left leg. It will go away naturally hun but if you feel you need to rest then do so. I relied on my OH so much when I had that, he sometimes had to carry me around the house so I could move because I physically couldn't walk.

xxxxxx

Sounds like it to me hon, I have suffered with it this pregnancy since about 12 weeks. Mines comes and goes, sits in my bum cheek or shoots down my leg or can sit at the bottom of my spine, some times its a quick shooting pain or other times is hangs around.

I recently mentioned to my mw who adivsed just to keep moving, referred me to a physi (which I havent had yet) and also advised to get a support belt. x

I also get this, suffering from it at the mo, ow!! :)

I was diagnosed with this today, but i'm not so sure. I googled it all for some info and pelvic girdle pain came up which sounds more like what i've got. Google it to see what you can find.

I had the exact same symptoms as you and my doctor said it was sciatica. Physical therapy is the usual treatment. I've found that sleeping on my side with a pillow between my knees does wonders for me.

Sciatica is very common in pregnancy. I have it also, sometimes I would be walking around the store and feel as if my left leg was ready to give way, the pain was around my hip/bum area and shot down.

I second putting a pillow between your legs at night, I have one of those cylinder shaped decorative pillows and since I have used that the pain has been ALOT less common. Thankfully!.

i have this hun, its so painful it comes and goes, theres been a few times ive sat down for a bit and moved and ive yelped in pain :( also if ive been busy cleaning etc i.l suffer the rest of the night.

yes it is...i have been getting this for about 3-4 weeks now and hoping it goes soon...i think bubba lies on it alot because some time of day are worse than others...the other day i was buying dinner at the shop and the pain was so much i couldn't even walk!! But luckily it doesn't last forever...i hope!! haha

I started like this and unfortunately it does sound like sciatica... I had to have physio for mine, if you purchase a gym ball and seek advise from the local hospital they may provide you with some exercises which are safe in pregnancy, they helped me alot but i wasnt pregnant at the time. I think mines going to start playing up soon but as its on my notes i just need to inform MW and she's going to refer me to physio. It is a horrible painful issue but with the correct measures can be eased, as to whether it remains gone forever...well, time will tell. Good luck hun, let us know how you get on :hugs: xx
