IUI... help please...

Hi this is my first IUI. I took 100 of clomid cd 3-7 and i went yesterday for my US (day 12) and I have 5 follicles 15-16mm my RE said im not ready and to scan again on tuesday (day 15). I am just so worried we are going to miss my O. I usually O on day 13 (today) and last night i started cramping and stuff. Is it possible to ovulate when my follicles arent mature yet... there are 4 on the left... so maybe they are just taking up alot of room???
Please help. I dont know if I should call and try to get my US tomorrow... but i also dont wanna pay for another US (not convered by insurance) to find out I already ovulated!

With my IUI's on clomid my RE told me that they like to "push" the eggs a bit and get them around 20-21mm. They grow 1-2mm a day. This always made me worry as well but the timing always seemed to work out. Also, your body isn't used to having so many follicles so it is definitely possible that you are feeling some "crowding" so to speak.
If you can get another US tomorrow, that might at least put your mind at ease.
I hope this helps, I know how frustrating the whole process is.

I had 4 total follicles on my left side at CD10 -- they ranged 12-18mm. That was on a monday ... I didn't have my IUI till Thursday. I had a lot of cramping up until my IUI. I did a trigger injection Wednesday morning and I was shocked that about 2 hours before my IUI I had REALLY bad pains on my left side. I am 99.9% sure I ovulated. Are you doing any trigger shots for ovulation??

Yes im doings trigger. Thanks for the advice guys im just nervous. I hope it is just crowding. What do you think I should say to get them to move my ultrasound

Are you using OPKs? That might be a less expensive way to ease your mind. If you O on your own before the trigger your LH surge will show on the OPK and you can call them to move up your IUI. If not it will make you feel better while you are waiting. I always do OPKs in the morning and evening on those last few days because I get nervous I will O on my own too. Good luck!

I understand how you feel. I too, totally thought I was ovulating or getting ready to ovulate days before my IUI. I believe it to be that there were so many follicles in that ovary. If you are totally convinced that you already ovulated I would request an ultrasound. I understand the financial issue as I am too paying for everything out of pocket. I will tell you this ... I was almost positive I ovulated until the day after I took the trigger. I had the most intense pain on the side where the follicles were. Then when they did my IUI she said I was loaded with CM (sorry TMI). Therefore, I was positive I ovulated the same day as my IUI. Good luck ... I say go for the ultrasound to relax your fears ... it costs money ... but at least your mind can be at ease.

PS-About 3 years ago, I was doing IUI's and I felt that intense ovulation pain 2 days before my scheduled IUI. I called the Fertility Clinic and told them the pain was crazy bad. They immediately scheduled me for an ultrasound that day. Come to find out ... my ovaries were empty. I had in fact ovulated too soon.

Thanks guys! I am hoping it is just because it is crowded in there!! Im still not sure if I want to call and move up my ultrasound. I mean really if I did already O then it doesnt really matter if I move it to tomorrow. I really need to just sit back and trust my doctor.

Went to the doc today for a US. 18mm and they are all still there so I would have been ok going tomorrow. Trigger tuesday IUI THURSDAY!!!
