I'm right now going through my 2WW :wacko:. If this cycle does not work I'm considering an IUI with injections. Has anyone had a successful IUI with injections? Please let me know. Thanks and baby dust to us all!!
:dust::dust::dust::dust:

I just had my 2nd IUI with Clomid- and will try one more before considering injections. I was told that it might be a good option for us though as the odds are a bit higher. I would certainly not be looking forward to injections- I hate needles- but I'd suck it up! lol.

Hope someone is able to give you answers that already done the injectables... sorry I can't help.

Just wanted to with you the best of luck!!!! Hope you get that BFP soon!

No success story here but I did one IUI min stim cycle. I only had injections on 2 days, in combination with my oral meds. It wasn't bad. I assume if your IUIing you're doing the trigger shot? To me, the injections weren't any worse. Mixing can be nervewracking but I used Bravelle which has this cool little mixing "cap" that does the hard part for you.

We did 3 IUI's with injections before we had YDD.
If I can help in any way let me know. I will do my best to answer any questions you may have.

I am in the 2 week waiting period as well, had my IUI on 2/5/11. It is my first IUI and my doctor had me go straight to injections. I started with Follisitim for 2 days and then based on my U/S results they told me to do 2 more days of Follistim until they checked the follicle size again. After they decided the follicle size was good to go, I had to give myself the HCG trigger shot the next day. The injections are not bad at all. The only discomfort I experienced was a little soreness in my belly around the spot of the injection. As for the mixing of the HCG, I took it to my fertility center and had the nurse there mix it for me so that I didn't have to worry about doing it wrong:) Best of luck!

Hi kaicyn,

I've had two IUI cycles now, one with injectables and one without. The injectables were not bad at all. My nurse gave me the first shot, my husband the two other. I don't have a success story though :(

I will move to my third, and final, IUI cycle before moving to IVF.

Keep us posting.. Best of luck!

I absolutely HATE needles, so much so that I used to pass out cold on the floor anytime I got a shot.

I have done injectibles quite a bit now but this is the FIRST month I have done them myself. I was SOOOOO scared that I would do it wrong, or it would hurt sooo bad. To be completely honest with you ... they didn't hurt much at all and injecting yourself is fairly simple.

The success story for you is: I got pregnant with my daughter after using injectibles with IUI in 2008. We are now working on baby #2 using the same method!! It can work!! Good luck!

I'm using follistim now and have some problems with the pen so I thought I would post. Once I put it in my skin I can't push the button down all the way so I have to twist it down. Have I still been getting the meds?

Before you are injecting and you testing the needle first?? I turn it just till I hear one click then push the button and little droplets come out from the top. therefore I know when I am injecting I am getting my meds AND there is no air in my needle.
Hope this helps!
