Ive been recommended not to use Johnson baby shampoo!

Oh dear, think I'm gonna stop using it then :(

My son has really thin hair that will not grow at all

You can get Naked in Boots, i use it now and again on my coloured hair  Its far kinder.
We use simple on the kids but I wouldnt hesitate using the Naked range either

I have three kids and used Johnsons on all of them only my daughter suffers dry skin but thats because she has sensitive skin. I thinknit depends on your babies own sensitivity. I love Jognsons products and swear by them. Cradle cap is a rather common baby issue mine never got it and I use Johnsons shampoo. To clear it up put baby oil on the scalp after shampooing. xx

Yeah the cradle cap is really common, my son had it as a newborn waaay before Johnsons even touched his head.

Hate johnsons ! I used dentinox (I think it's called) for her cradle cap, and now even though the cradle cap is gone I still use it. It makes her hair lovely, smells amazing too.

Johnsons are strong enough to wash your bath out with! Lol

We use Dentinox cradle cap shampoo as well, even though it already cleared up the boys' cradle cap. My doctor told me to by no accounts use Johnsons as my boys have a bit of eczema and it would make it worse. So to wash them we use Dermol 500 Lotion instead of a soap as our GP prescribed it.

To be fair though, my daughter suffers badly with eczema and it's not just johnsons you should avoid, it's ALL soap bath products. We use Oilatum in her bath.

Same as me! We have the dermal 500 cream. In the bath I wash her with calendula body wash, it's natural and nice on her skin. The one and only time I used johnsons loads of eczema poped up! X

Yeah you are probably right it was just that he mentioned Johnson especially.

We recently started using the Johnsons bubble bath as our local supermarket had run out of our usual. Within two days LO had patches of dry skin all over, so I stopped using it and his skin cleared up straight away. Won't be using it again.

My sister swears by the shampoo to strip out her hair dye. And no more tears my arse! That stuff still stings like hell!

wow I just researched Johnsons and wont be using their products anymore!

yep only place ive seen naked is in boots. i live in quite a small town though. x

We use Halo & Horns. The zingy orange one is lovely.
There are no parabens etc in it.
xx

I can't use anything Johnson's on my boys but that because they are so sensitive and eczema prone. Plus I hated how it always leaves this residue in the bath water after you rinse then that stays on the body :( I use an all natural product on them and don't have any problems. Sorry can't help you on if it ruins the hair

I'm not a fan of Johnsons either. My youngest has eczema, and it irritates his skin if I use it. And I don't like the shampoo. I switched to Mustela newborn shampoo, and loooove it. Its very gentle, smells nice, and he hasn't had any issues with it drying his scalp out, or cradle cap since we started using it.

For my older son, I use Loreal kids shampoo. It also seems to be much better on his hair than Johnsons was. When I was using JOhnsons on him as a baby, I thought it made his hair seem kind of bristly feeling, very dry and scratchy. Which is odd for baby hair. That's what made me switch.

What about simple baby shampoo? Would anyone recommend? I'm so annoyed about Johnsons because I really believe that's the reason behind my sons dry, thin hair now.

Just spoke to my mum who said its also made my brothers hair dry and thin!

Every medical profession, docs, midwives and health visitors I met all said the same about johnsons. I used it once as I ran out of shampoo and had a toddler with food in his hair. Spent next few days in docs getting cream for allergic reaction on his scalp.

Johnsons have had their liciance taken away to sell products in India because of all the harmfull ingredients.

We use halos and horns from boots and only wash her hair once a week unless its filthy.
