Ive been recommended not to use Johnson baby shampoo!

Have been using the simple (tatty teddy) bath range on her for ages now. You can get it in poundland!

I have loads of Johnson sitting in my cupboard which I got given as gifts, but I found it was awful really stripped poppys hair. I use a loreal one for kids smells lovely :) x

Thanks so much for the comments, ladies. I had no idea Johnson's was so bad!

Well it seems its not just my little girls hair its thinned and dryed!
I'm so glad I found this out!
I've just got back from tesco and the simple baby range, shampoo and bubble bath is on offer for £1!

I'm really annoyed I didn't know this as I've been using only Johnsons bath and shampoo for 2.5 yrs on her!
Hopefully with a change her hair will become manageable now! Her skin is better since I stopped the bubble bath so am hopefull about stopping the shampoo too!

I done some research since my friend told me and it seems they do have a lot of nasty things in their products!
Shocking as they are so advertised for babies and the amount of it the super markets stock you can't miss it so lots of mums will pick it up as its just the known!

My little one developed eczema on her back and a good friends little boy has bad eczema and she recommended using Simple baby products as these didn't seem to irritate her sons skin. After swapping to simple shampoo and bubble bath my daughters dry scalp and cradle cap seemed to improve almost overnight. I never realised it was the Johnson's causing this as I only swapped because of her eczema but I can see now how harsh Johnson's products are to delicate skin. It's such a shame as I love the smell of all of the Johnson's products.

I was given some as a gift but the health visitor said its the worst kind. She said all their products are bad.

I stopped using johnsons baby shampoo on Isabelle's hair as it made it feel really greasy and switched to halos and horns which we love!

I still use all johnsons other products and never had an issue x

It's crucial not to use anything with harsh and toxic chemicals on baby's skin and hair. The skin is the largest organ in the body and will absorb anything that is put upon it. All natural/organic soaps and shampoos are the way to go. J&J doesn't give a damn about the consumers and babies who use their poison products. They just want your money $$$.

I just used water for my son until he was 2 then I started using the Boots sensitive shampoo. I have never used shampoo on my daughter. I have also heard all sorts of stories so would never use Johnsons and I'm not sure babies need washing in anything other than water really.

I actually reported Maddie's skin reaction to J and J cos it was so bad... and that was using their product for sensitive skin!!! We now use Coconut oil in the bath and organic lavendar stuff on her hair... but after the comments here I will be checking out the naked range!

We only used J&J once and threw it out. Her skin was fine, but holy crap, how can people deal with that lavender smell?? It was so overwhelming it gave me a migraine. :haha:

Have never used it bc of the bad press it got about chemicals.

I have to agree with some posters here and say I'm not a big fan of Johnsons products. Can I ask everyone though what bubble bath do you use for your lo that's more natural/ less products for baby's skin? Thanks :0)

I use Aubrey Organics products on LO (and on myself!) I absolutely LOVE their stuff and it is 100% natural... I highly highly recommend them :)

Ah thank you I shall have a look at the link now :) x

Rachel- silly questions but which Aubrey product do you use as like a bubble bath? I can only see skin lotion/ shampoo. Sorry op for going off topic!

Oh sorry I've never used bubble bath actually - but I wonder if the soap would bubble up? I use their soap, shampoo and body lotion on LO.

Johnsons products are full of rubbish. They made a statement last year saying that they promise to remove any harmful ingredient from their products before the end of 2013. If its harmful why is it in a baby product! We use simple. Their products seem to be very good.

Sorry if someone has already said this and hope I don't offend but Simple also has quite a lot of rubbish in it too. I avoid all products with SLSs and Parabans.

So far (6months) not used anything on my LO other than occasional coconut oil if looking a little sore.

The hospital gave me sample size J&J products and they used J&J lotion on him in the hospital...I never use it.

I use Shea Moisture baby wash, and California Baby lotion. I use Shea Moisture body wash on myself. I may switch to all California Baby stuff once this wash runs out, I really like the lotion and they get really good scores on the Skin Deep Database.

I wish I knew this before I started using J&J since he was born. His hair is so thin and frizzy now I know why. I'm going to use California baby and aveeno from now on. Does anyone know if ceasing to use J&J will correct the thin hair or is it pretty much ruined??
