Hi all,

I remember reading somewhere that IVF babies are statistically more likely to be girls. Is this corerect or have i just imagined this?

I suppose the sex doesn't really matter, as long as the baby is healthy, especially if you have undergone treatment, but it is interesting. i think it was in the Times ages ago - something to do with the timing of fertilisation.

I too think this is just coincidence to be honest, but I guess if you look at all the IVF babies by gender it isn't going to equal 50% of each so one gender is going to he higher, I wouldn't think there wasn't much in it though!

I thought this as to be honest all the ivf babies i know personally have been girls also on here take a look at the 4 left clover thread more girls on there. However statistically the do say it is 50/50.

We were told that with ICSI, as they choose the liveliest looking sperm, this can slightly favour boys as male sperm are quicker. It would be interesting to know if the embrologists know what gender embie they are putting back..!

xx
