Anyone else embarking on ivf for baby number 2? First consultation on the 25th May and then hopefully transfer by July. Would be great to have some support along the journey

Not using ivf to ttc but I will totally support you on your journey

Ok great it's always good to have a buddy and can see from the other thread you're already doing fertility massage and the vitamins which is great. Is this your first attempt at conceving and how does it work with a rainbow baby? Have you already found a donor if that is the root you choose

I guess this would be my first time ttc because the baby I lost wasn't planned. This baby would be my rainbow. I have a donor. We have done 3 inseminations so far and will do 2 or 3 more this week.

Sorry to hear that you have experienced loss before. I hope that this time goes smoothly. Do you have a partner or are you flying solo

Hello! Am definitely planning to write the similar post in meanwhile (tytle: ivf for baby#2 - DE or sth like that - lol) We've been already through infertility journey resulting in our little one. Now both think we want MORE! So soon heading off for the same option. Here's some of my background:
Me - 42 yrs old. With my dh started ttc in June 2012. dx: endo & pcos. 2012 - 1 round clomid - bfn. 2013 - 1 fresh ivf with 5day 2 blasts - early miscarriage. I needed long break for the emotional recovery. Though continuing trying naturally. 2015 - biopsy results diagnosed severe endo. Later adding pcos. Dh's results came in healthy. The same year - another fresh ivf with oe - failure. For some reasons decided to witch the clinics for the overseas one ( money matter mostly and some other). 2016 - ivf round with de - successful. Got bfp on day 8 after ET which was amazingly early! So as far as you know we're counting on another ivf cycle with the same clinic. Still are not sure as for the time frames - that really depends on many factors. But the plans are obvious. Hoping to join you at some journey stage. All the best of luck for you!!

Oh wow what an amazing story. Sorry to hear of your early losses. We got pregnant on our second round of ivf and had switched clinics for the successful one. We managed to freeze 3 embryos which I am hoping will provide us with a second child. This friday we would find out what protocol they would have me follow but I don't know if its the right time to have a second with my first having just turned three. When they collected my eggs they said I have stage one endo and a few fibroids so trying to reduce those naturally. However, the problem was with my husbands gear. Slow swimmers and low count. What preparation are you doing and when do you think the time is right ?

It's still going to be a few months before I start but I'll be going the ivf route for number two in September as well. Just have to wait until my little guy is at least a year old or my husband will think I'm nuts. :)

Hey Holly , thanks for joining. We had our first consultation last week which went well. So I will have an hysterscopy and then July the transfer. It all seems to be happening quickly. Is there a reason for needing ivf with your 2nd

There's always the possibility that it could happen naturally but I'm not holding my breath. I've got pcos so ovulation generally doesn't happenfor me and my husband has low morphology to add an extra obstacle. We tried for five years for our son before getting his through a fifth transfer and I'm pretty much expecting the same this go round.

Hi all,

We are hoping to embark on IVF with ICSI this summer for our number 2. We had our little girl almost 2 years ago and she was our 3rd IVF that was successful. I have been doing acupuncture since January to get my body prepared for another round. My cycles have always been short but after I stopped breastfeeding they have been as short as 22 days, so trying to work on that for possible pregnancy number 2. When I previously met with our dr she suggested we would follow a very similar protocol as the time that worked, and I had the endo scratch the month before plus an injection to shut my ovaries down. If all goes to plan the scratch and injection will be on my next cycle (currently on Day 3 of this cycle), so fingers crossed. If my calculations are correct we will be starting stims right around our daughter's 2nd birthday and hoping it works first time this time! :)

So excited to be sharing the journey with you lovely ladies!

Hey! Sounds like we've all had bumpy roads with our first babies. So when we met with the doctor he said we could do a natural round. Just like my first off I didn't have any of the downreg and just a light ivf. I do not miss all the needles but they were worth it. I to did acupuncture on my successful round and a scratch. So we are following the same procedure. We have 3 frozen embryos so hoping one is our second child. I'm really nervous though as with ivf you have so much time to think about all the what ifs. Just taking a lot of vitamins to help prepare my body

How is everyone doing?

We just got back from our final meeting before starting the cycle. Once I get to Day 1, I call up and book in for the endo scratch and down reg injection on Day 19 (not 21 because I have shorter cycles). Then we just wait for Day 1 of the next cycle to happen and we start with stims. DH’s sperm has improved quite a bit from the last testing we had which is positive news, so I am hoping that that, coupled with the acupuncture means we might be in with a good shot! We also paid in full for the cycle today (there was a promotion on so made sense) and so it all is starting to feel pretty real.

Wishing everyone the best of luck!

So good to hear from you. Sounds like good news so far dh sperm quality improved on our successful round so hopefully that really helps you.

I have to take a few meds then the transfer happens on 18th July. It feels like ages away but it's a month for me to get fit and build vitamins.

How will you help the time go by?

Wow - 18th July. That’s less than a month away. You must be so excited. Will you put 1 embryo back (or more)? I can’t believe we are doing down this path again. The meds and all the fear and heartache seems like a lifetime ago, and yet so real. The people who have repeatedly said since our little one was born, oh you’ll be pregnant again in no time etc. - they just don’t know how hard it is for us (and we are lucky - we already have 1)!

To pass the time I guess I will keep working hard at my job and in the time I get to spend with our daughter I am sure I will be crazy busy following her around! How about you? Also DH leaves for a business trip for about 9 days in early July so I guess I will be pretty busy for a while there!!

Hey, been so busy lately and enjoying the good weather. Yes we'll put one back and pray -alot. I'm so impatient and was so excited when af arrived as it meant we were on track. Next step is building lining with 1st scan on Monday. Just trying to eat right and get enough sleep. Will switch to healthy lining building foods now. Like you just busy with work now but am constantly thinking about this. How have you been?

Doing ok thanks - good to hear from you. How did everything go on Monday? I am currently having intralipids after having the scratch this morning and my down reg injection. It all seems very real now! Can hardly believe we are going through this all again. Praying it works!

I bought lots of eggs this morning as the protein I believe is very good for us. Still running around like mad while DH is away but it will calm down soon.

A friend of mine just found out she isn’t pregnant after her 7th IVF try. I don’t know what to say to her beyond what I have already said and I can’t tell her we are going through it again for fear we have success. How do you deal with this?!?

How are you doing Bordeaux?

I started stims on Sunday (22nd). The dr has me on a slightly lower dose this time of just 300 of Gonal F as opposed to 450 which I was on last time. I went for acupuncture today and plan to go again on Thursday. Just really want to throw everything at this round that we possibly can.

I don’t go back until Sunday to see how I am progressing so it’s a bit of wait and see. The days seem to be dragging ...
