IVF with or without Acupuncture

For all of you who have been through IVF, I'd be really interested to see the effect of acupuncture on your success rates. Please reply if you have been through IVF and tell me whether or not you had acupuncture and whether you got your BFP or not.

Hi

I had acupunture a few times while ttc. When we started on IVF I had a couple of sessions while d/regging and stimming and then 2 very specific sessions - one 2 hours before ET and one 2 hours after.

We got our BFP first treatment. Acupuncture may, or may not have played a part, who knows, but it certainly did no harm for us.

If you are thinking about it, make sure you get one who specialises in fertility though

Current stats are that is increases sucess by up to 57%!! I had it since June last year, and got BFP with first IVF which unfortunately we lost early on, but I am still having it now. Just after embryo transfer is the most important time.

When are you starting treatment? Where do you live as I can recommend a brilliant accupuncturist in Bucks.

Just wanted to let you know that I've had IVF and just got my BFP without accupuncture. My first cycle was cancelled so technically this was IVF no.2. I would have loved to have accupuncture but it just didn't work out for me.

I would still consider it in the future though

Caline, sorry you lost your little one, good luck with your FET. I'm waiting to start my first ICSI, I'm just waiting for the results of a biopsy after a colposcopy (abnormal cells from smear test), if it's all clear I'll be starting down-regging in 3 weeks, otherwise I'll have to have the cells removed and then start a month later. I've actually had acupuncture before and he happens to be a fertility specialist but I'm curious about real-life opinions about the effect as it's quite expensive!
