9:30 am - Pumped 8 oz

10:00 am - Breastfed for 20 minutes

2:30 pm - Breastfed for an hour

11:50 pm - Pumped 12 oz

Did not express so much today, I guess since I breastfed comparatively a lot!!

LO has not had a drop of formula for 48 hours...very happy about this.

There was some disgusting mold on one of the pump parts, DH noticed it and gave me a withering look as he cleaned it carefully! Feel that I'm an awful mum who feeds LO moldy horrible BM*. :hissy:

*still not as bad as formula

Breastfeeding & Expressing time log

8:00 am - Breastfed for about an hour

12:30 pm - Breastfed for about an hour

4:00 pm - Expressed 8 oz

10:00 pm - Expressed 9 oz

I don't know what all this means, if my supply is lowering or what (can't tell how much oz baby takes in on the breast obviously)...LO has been enjoying the extra boob and I've been enjoying having a break from the pump, but since I'll be out and about tomorrow (and don't like BFing in public) I'll go back to the regular pumping routine.

If he's not going on every feed he'll take longer to get his technique down.

Are you pumping/feeding between 1am and 5am at all?

 What do you mean about "going on every feed"?

I pump between those hours every night...I know about the prolactin stuff...but strangely it's usually when I produce the least!

Produced only 22 oz today and breastfed once, briefly.

Very upset about this. Was told by my pediatrician that putting him on the breast instead of pumping more often would increase my milk flow, and by doing that for two days I've reduced my production by 10 oz!! What the bloody hell? His latch is perfect, just don't understand. Going back to almost exclusively pumping, I think.

Sorry - terrible English... I meant if he's not BFing directly ever feed it will obviously take him longer to perfect his technique than if he were all the time. My LO took a good few months to get from feeding for an hour at a time to 10 minute feeds. :D

2:00 am - Pumped 7 oz

7:00 am - Breastfed for about 20 minutes

10:30 am - Pumped 3.5 oz

4:00 pm - Pumped 7 oz

7:00 pm - Pumped 4 oz

10:30 pm - Pumped 5 oz

26.5 total

Think I have a clogged duct, feel so tired and cranky I could scratch someone's eyes out!!

I have mastitis...feel furious at myself for whatever I did wrong and in so much pain! :sad2:

Noooooooooo :( Aww hun :hugs: I dont think you can blame yourself - it's nothing you did wrong I'm sure. One thing that can cause it (and I do this sometimes :dohh: ) is if you have larger breasts and use a finger to press the tissue away from their nose. You can inadvertently be pressing on a duct and if you are doing it in a similar place each time it can cause a blockage.

Hope it goes soon honey. Feed and pump like crazy on that side to help and really take care of yourself like you would if you had the flu. Lots of rest and fluid and hopefully you can avoid anti-biotics x

Today managed to get 17 oz. from healthy breast and about 1/2 oz from infected...feel less like I hate the world. But seeing his poop change from having to up his formula intake and everything was horrible! I know I'm being a huge drama queen and formula's fine, but oh well.

( they don;t let you stay in the scbu where we will be going :( so i will be travelling lots and feeding while i am there and kangaroo caring etc )
agree with you about formula... ugh.. and hope i never have to use it. everyone knows ( in my care team ) that there is a pain of death on anyone bringing formula near my baby !! i will prob ask for a bf mentor person on here nearer the time. i really really do not agree with formula so am very determined. so are you and it is great :D

keep at it !

Thank you so much hon :hugs:

You have a great attitude about your possible ordeal ahead...my LO was in SCBU for a day and I managed fine, but again, it was a day...you do need to keep a hawkeye out for formula-givers. The worst are older nurses who think you're just some silly little girl who doesn't know anything about babies.

Unfortunately I have to use formula half the time right now because my mastitis won't let my milk come down in my right boob, which was my biggest producer before...whenever LO spits up or has obvious reflux symptoms (which never happen with my breastmilk) I feel like total crap!

He's been feeding constantly...it makes us both so sleepy! Good!!

I expressed once today and we got 5.5 ounces out, will express again in four hours.

Am recovered from mastitis but affected breast is still producing practically nothing. Have started taking fenugreek in hopes of raising my production.

I have to admit he is doing great on the formula. We got him soy milk based, which really doesn't seem to upset his stomach and he's getting SO big! I'm sure at his next weigh-in he'll be at 13 lbs. already!!!

Was so busy today could only get 3 pumps in and one feed in the morning...very bad. Do NOT want to get mastitis again! Got about 17 ounces total from expressing.

I refuse to eat the fenugreek seeds so am sending DH out for capsules tomorrow.

Four pumps and one feed today (have to stop sleeping so much during the day!!), about 22 oz total.

When will my milk come back like before in my right boob??

How are you getting on? Is your supply back to normal in right boobie?
