Just tried bf her again and my nips now quite sore, so gonna express as second best....
Just wonder if I've put myself under too much pressure??? Think it's . Just a late night woe is me feeling after a day of a lot of bf....

Well through the night I was in a lot of pain in my whole breast area, my nipples felt like they were burning - calling the Dr at 8am to get an emergency appt as can go the whole weekend with this pain and not taking no for an answer. This is not normal to feel this pain, and is making what is already a very hard process even harder as at the moment I just want to give up and go ff all the time. Only managed one bf during the night cause of the pain at 2am, I could've cried cause of the generally all over pain I'm in at each feed and afterwards...

Please to the God of bf surely I deserve a break and just take me one step forward instead of two backwards.....

Make that doctor help you! This is unacceptable. See another doctor. This is not normal or ok! Do what you can, express when you can't nurse, get a nice deep latch and if it's ductal thrush you will feel better so, so quickly. At this point I'm a little worried it could be the beginning of mastitis for you as well. Missing all those feeds puts you at risk of it. Please let us know what the doctor says.

Well you can't write this.... first they had booked me in with nurse as receptionist must've thought it was vaginal thrush.
I was in floods of tears explaining my symptoms, then nurse couldn't really offer anything so got the male Dr in to see me who again examined me said it wasn't mastitis (yup I know that) and said he wasn't prescribing me anything, if anything rub some canesten cream on my nipples but rub off when bf (never mind my daughter could pass it back to me again) or alternatively stop bf and the symptoms will stop. Then the tears really started.... yes I know I have be ff her but I can't even latch her on as its beyond cracked nipple soreness it's a deep searing pain when she latches.
The bf support woman who I saw on Thursday is off until Monday, so I've a, blubbering message on the support groups voice mail asking for help.
What I am feeling is not normal a d I am not ready to give up yet. I am still expressing at the moment, but that isn't pain free either.

I am a total and utter blubbering wreck now, was in tears all the way home, thinking I don't know what else to say or do to get help with the des or for them to believe my symptoms.....

So I'm at a loss..... gonna keep trying go feed her, but it's so painful..... Just keep expressing and ff her..... which is what I'm trying to reduce so feel like a total and utter failure.....

You can buy Daktarin over the counter. Cream for you and Gel for the baby. Some HV can also prescribe it. As per BfN your latch needs checking.

Gentian violet. You can buy this and start treating without prescription. You can use to treat baby and yourself.

This is ridiculous. Telling you to stop breastfeeding- that is silly and obviously not a breastfeeding supportive practice.

As a side note, there is almost certainly some issue with her latch. You need to have a lactation consultant watch you latch on and breastfeed. They will be able to help you correct whatever the latch problem is. The BF support woman might be able to do this, but she is away. I actually really wish you had a video of her latching on and feeding, because I'm almost certain I could spot an issue. This is ridiculous you are being left with no help and under these circumstances.

Other signs of shallow latch- her cheeks suck in a bit when she is nursing, a bit like she is drinking through a straw. Pain during nursing. Nipples with the "lipstick" slant. You do not need to have all or any of these symptoms to have a latch issue.

Ps. FF will not make thrush go away!

So needless to say I went and got the right medication prescribed by a lovely nurse.
I've been pumping throughout this and my supply seems to 've increasing too, the bf support is bringing me an I industrial pump too so I should get more....

're hierarchy she doesn't suck in her cheeks atall.... gonna give it another day of ff and ebm then 're attach her and see whether the .medication has helped.....

But feeling a lot, lot,lot more positive today (well couldn't get any lower tbh!!) So feel this episode nearly over and can start afresh again!!!

Just tried the industrial medela pump - quite impressed, so 2hr pumping sessions for me today... Will get my supply overflowing in no time.
Gonna give my boobs a rest until Monday where I'll try her on the boob again, hopefully the main pain will have subsided by then!!

At 3-4 weeks my little one was a tube... He'd fill his nappy whilst feeding, fall asleep, wake and then poo again. All while feeding.

Just park yourself on the settee with enough food and drink to see you though.

Yeah looking forward to trying again tbh...... My nipples are still a bit sore, so slapping on the thrush cream and taking the meds for ductal thrush, so come tmrw morning I'll try her on the boob and hope that I'm not as sore as I have been.

Still pumping every two hrs to keep up the supply (not got the best supply - but hoping that I'm just a poor pumper, and my daughter gets a lot more out of me than I can do with a machine!!!
