Hi All

Just started clomid today, any advice on any side effects, or when you would plan to DTD? I suppose it will change compared to what I am use too as I normally have a 32 day cycle.

So far the only problem could be by husband has low SA but motality and morphology is good, all my tests appear to be ok but could be something minor on ovulation approx 3-4 cycles on this and then to IVF.

Also has anyone challenged their NHS trust as they have not offered IVF as stated in the NICE guidelines, ie 3 cycles of IVF up to age of 40. I have written to my trust this week to challenge this, it is just a post code lottery

Thanks

Hi lovely,

How are you feeling? I'm on my fourth round of clomid at the mo (just beginning AF so will soon be onto round 5)... And pretty much the only symptoms I've had were occaisional hot flushes, extra CM after ovulation (sorry tmi!) and spotty skin around ovulation. Really hope clomid works our for you!

We've been regerred by my gynaecologist for our first consultation at the infertility clinic on 6th Dec, hopefully to be referred on to ivf clinic, so I've been looking into the NICE guidelines too! What have they offered you hun? We have been offered 3 round and 3 frozen embryo transfers, and my brother and sis-in-law are currently having the same. Hope they offer you the same hun xxx

I'm on round 2 of clomid and i've already had to fight like you wouldn't believe for this because the local PCT (CCG in my area) guidelines say because i O on my own i'm not entitled... however, he made the mistake of saying the 'NICE' guidelines don't allow it... so he got the guidelines quoted right back at at him with the correction that that it's not NICE guidelines but the CCG guidelines that don't allow it. So i offered to give up my right to clomid and move straight on to my rights according to NICE for IVF! lol Needless to say after a few exchanges of words and a few stunned silences from the FS, i got the clomid.

I have my IVF appeal letter written (just a few details to fill in) but weather i ever send it or not i'm not sure.... we'll see what happens in the coming months x

Good luck!

Hi, I've had 6 rounds of clomid, FS just gave me 3 more while we think about IVF, he said we can either pay around £1000 for iui which I don't think will work anyway or go for IVF where we have 1 free cycle. It's so wrong the way they go by this postcode lottery, I'm scared to think what will happen after this if it doesn't work. Hadnt thought about challenging it but maybe I should
good luck all x

there is a great website - infertility network uk - they have the letter templates already written all you have to do is fill in the blanks x

Thank you, I'll save that website for if I need it, great help :) x
